Black Veil Brides Unleash Video for ‘In The End’

YouTube Go big or go home seems to be less of a challenge and more of a promise when it comes to Black Veil Brides . With their new disc ‘ Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones ’ due out on Jan. 8, the band recently unveiled a new video for ‘In the End,’ the first single from the upcoming concept album. The song kicks off in epic fashion, hinting at the story that’s about to unfold, with frontman Andy Biersack wailing, “ In the end / As you fade into the night / Who will tell / The story of your life ,” as the band rips into the song with a desert scene serving as their backdrop. The up-tempo rocker wages a battle call and comes equipped with everything fans have come to expect from Black Veil Brides from theatrics to shredding guitar solos and a big sing-a-long chorus. Although it may take hearing the entire new disc for the full concept to unravel, it’s clear to see in the video that the storytelling is leading the way. In a recent interview with Hollywood Music Magazine , Biersack talked about the ideas being spun behind the scenes for their new disc, explaining, “It’s a ‘V for Vendetta’-esque story where this bad guy organization called F.E.A.R. takes away science and creativity from man and I suppose is a parallel to the religious and political upbringing of all of us in small towns in America.” In addition to the first single, BVB are gearing up for the debut of a full-length film based on the new disc titled ‘Legion of the Black,’ set to be screened in theaters in Los Angeles, Calif., on Dec. 21-23. For fans that can’t make it out to the west cost to partake, the band will also be offering it through pay-per-view on their Facebook page. Coinciding with the release of ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones,’ Black Veil Brides will be kicking off their Church of the Wild Ones North American tour on Jan 4 with dates through March. Kurt Cobain Multimedia Exhibition in Miami Showcased by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore

Frank Micelotta, Getty Images Few musicians possess the talent and character to retain ‘Rock God’ status nearly 20 years after their demise, but since 1994, the memory of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has not faded one bit. Countless tributes have been paid to Cobain since his suicide, with the latest being a strange and multidimensional stage show featuring  Sonic Youth ‘s Thurston Moore . The artistic tribute , simply called ‘Kurt,’ was showcased at the Gusman Center for the Arts in Miami, Fla., on Dec. 6, as part of the city’s Art Basel extravaganza. The Cobain experiment began with a 12-minute film by contemporary artist Adarsha Benjamin, which depicted a Cobain-like figure wandering through a Super-8 world and tearing up musical instruments while Pacific Ocean waves violently crash along Northwestern shores. The face of the Kurt Cobain figure was never fully revealed, although flashes of the late musician’s physical characteristics were shown as a mysterious tease. After the film’s conclusion, a bizarre dance based off Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ video began, complete with flannel shirts and a smokey atmosphere. After some strange conceptual dancing, a proverbial snake charmer with a left-handed guitar blasted out a solo guitar piece with piercing distortion, entrancing the grunged-out dancers. To conclude the night, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore introduced himself, speaking informally about his own life before focusing on the life of Kurt Cobain. “I want to read a couple of things I wrote,” Moore stated, “now or maybe later, with Kurt in mind. I thought the film was beautiful and I was happy to see that film. I love the idea that we can just be expressionistic in our feelings towards people, whether we were intimate with them or not, as long as they brought beauty and feeling into our lives.” Moore concluded the night with a multitude of spoken-word poetry along with an experimental and massively distorted noise piece. Shiprocked 2012: Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, Pop Evil – Day 3 Recap + Gallery

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire On day three of the continuous party that is Shiprocked 2012 on the MSC Poesia, rockers and fans alike woke up in the sunny Nassau, Bahamas. Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon was excited to go snorkeling in the morning while Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D. enjoyed an escape to Atlantis. Lit frontman A.J. Popoff took an even more romantic route as he took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend on the trip. Others took the time in the Bahamas to catch up on some much needed sleep after the continuous nights of drinking and moshing but when 6PM rolled around,  everyone made sure they got their butt on board in time to catch Five Finger Death Punch ’s second performance of the cruise. Five Finger Death Punch put on a kickass set outside on the Deck Stage and had fans belting out songs so loud that the sound must have infiltrated the two boring ships we were docked alongside, as well as the natives and tourists of the Bahamas on land. Frontman Ivan Moody demanded a mosh pit and he definitely got one during the song ‘White Knuckles.’ The band’s ability to evoke various emotions in fans with their very personal stage presence is quite a sight to see. Godsmack put on one hell of a second show as well in the boat’s main indoor venue, the Carlo Felice Theater. Their first performance which kicked off the cruise was an acoustic set but this one was filled with powerful riffs and wild drum patterns that we all know when we hear Godsmack’s music. Other performances of the night included Pop Evil and Helmet’s first sets of the cruise. Filter was supposed to hit the Deck Stage at midnight but it was rescheduled due to some serious rainfall and gusty winds as the ship stayed docked in the Bahamas throughout the night. Late night drinking, in the rain, in the Bahamas, who could complain? ShipRocked 2012: Korn, In This Moment, P.O.D. + More – Day 2 Recap + Gallery

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Waking up in sunny Key West Fla., after a serious night of partying was the case for some on the ship while others slept in and awoke to the sound of Lit in the afternoon to kick off the second day of music mayhem. Frontman A. Jay Popoff of Lit donned his very fashionable red-rimmed sunglasses as he worked the stage. It’s always a fun time when Lit perform, especially with their animated and energetic stage presence. After Lit, onetime Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke rocked the Deck Stage with some serious riffage. P.O.D. gave one hell of a performance as they unleashed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Sonny Sandoval sang eye to eye with many fans but that wasn’t close enough for him as he belted out various P.O.D. anthems that ShipRockers knew and loved. After a half hour of technical difficulties and even a little bit of rain The Halo Method featuring — took the stage next and was joined by Art Of Dying frontman Jonny Hetherington performed Alice In Chains ‘Would?’ In This Moment crushed on their last day of the cruise since they had to fly to another show. They gave a blistering performance and got ‘Blood’ pumping by kicking off their set with ‘Adrenalize’ from their latest record. Korn ’s first performance of the cruise was indoor at the Carlo Felice Theater. The band put on a flawless show by playing numerous hits such as old school hits such as ‘Blind,’ ‘No Place to Hide’ and new school hits ‘Chaos Lives In Everything’ and ‘Get Up’ off of their ‘Path of Totality’ record. Other acts of the day included Fuel, Geoff Tate and Filter, who ended the night with an intimate set at the very aptly named Zebra Lounge. Avenged Sevenfold Help Main Characters ‘Carry On’ in ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Avenged Sevenfold are huge video game fans, so it was a no-brainer for the band when they were approached to do something special for the newly-released ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ game. Not only did they contribute the song ‘ Carry On ‘ to the soundtrack, the band — in their animated form — turn up at the end to perform the track with ‘Black Ops” two main characters. Singer M. Shadows told USA Today , “They said they wanted the song to be uplifting and they wanted it to add some levity to the game.” He adds, “[The game has] a very dark ending. They want you to have a certain feeling inside and they really wanted to have a feeling to uplift people at the end of the game and make you laugh.” The levity comes from the fact that the game’s longtime adversaries, Raul Menendez and Sgt. Frank Woods, manage to put aside their differences to join the band during the performance. Shadows explains, “‘Carry On’ was more like these guys coming together at the end and being buddies after they have pretty much killed each others’ families. I’m proud of it and I think it’s fun and it’s actually just really cool to be in a ‘Call of Duty’ game.” Of ‘Carry On,’ the vocalist says, “It was all about making a song that was up-tempo, something that had some cool little chord changes and key changes in there that gives the song a little bit of a life and we made it so the characters can rock out.”  Shadows, an avid gamer, admits that having ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ out is a bit of a distraction, but he’s fully committed to wrapping up the band’s next studio album . He explains, “I write about eight hours a day, five days a week and then play games the rest of the night and hang out with my son. Fans don’t need to be worried that I am just playing ‘Call of Duty’ [all the time].” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/avenged-sevenfold-m-shadows-squashes-rumor-the-rev-cameo-call-of-duty-black-ops-2/” title=”Next: M.
