Opeth to Tour North America in Spring 2013?

Roadrunner Swedish progressive metal masters Opeth have posted a mystery teaser via Roadrunner Records. We can only speculate as to what it means, but the video depicts a spinning Planet Earth with the signature Opeth logo appearing as the globe stops over North America. Accompanying the band’s logo, ‘Spring 2013′ materializes before the short teaser fades away. Immediately after the mystery video was posted, various theories began to float around the internet, and although no official announcement has been revealed along with the 30-second clip, a recent quote from frontman Mikael Akerfeldt  suggests an upcoming North American tour. “We still have a few details to work out,” Akerfeldt told Roadrunner in a November 2012 interview, “but we were supposed to be in the U.S. in the fall [of 2012] and we didn’t do it, so we’re gonna be in the U.S. in the spring, I think. But it’s not completely settled yet, so I’m not sure. I can’t say 100 percent that we’re gonna be there. But 90 percent sure, we’re going on a North American tour, which will be the last lengthy tour that we do for this record.” Opeth blazed through North America in 2012 for an incredible tour with Mastodon and Ghost , and although it’s been less than a year since we interviewed Akerfeldt ourselves and checked out Opeth’s live show, WE WANT THEM BACK! Here’s hoping for a 2013 North American tour from our Swedish friends in Opeth. Grand Central Publishing Rob Zombie has spent 2012 juggling both his music and movie careers and he’s finally put the finishing touches on the highly anticipated ‘ The Lords of Salem ‘ film. The movie now has a release date of April 26 in North America. Zombie completed filming and premiered the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and eventually found a backer in Anchor Bay, who now has the distribution rights for the film. In the months since the film festival, Zombie has been working with author B.K. Evenson to pen a book that will tie-in with the film. Readers will be able to pick up the page-turner on March 12 via Grand Central Publishing ahead of the movie’s April release. Zombie says, “The book offers a different experience from the film since it can obviously go into much more detail. The book and the film really compliment each other.” Fans of Zombie’s music work should also have something to celebrate next year as he’s called his forthcoming studio album “ the most inspired event ” of his career. ?   Watch ‘The Lords of Salem’ Trailer [button href=”http://loudwire.com/rob-zombie-lords-of-salem-tour-with-marilyn-manson-upcoming-album/” title=”Next: Rob Zombie Talks ‘Lords of Salem'” align=”center”]
