Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Immolation + More to Embark on 2013 Decibel Magazine Tour

Decibel Magazine Crushing! Absolutely crushing! Decibel Magazine brought an incredibly evil tour headlined by Behemoth last year and a massive celebration for their 100th issue with Converge and Pig Destroyer this past weekend, but the publication has outdone itself once again with a 2013 tour featuring Cannibal Corpse , Napalm Death and many more. If your skull just happens to be in one piece and you’d like to change that in the near future, we highly recommend these upcoming North American dates. Beginning on May 10 in Houston, Texas, Cannibal Corpse will headline the 2013 Decibel Magazine Tour along with support from legendary grinders Napalm Death and death metal maniacs Immolation along with Beyond Creation, Cretin and Magrudergrind. These acts are all truly awesome, and are certain to keep North American crowds energized and entertained at each stop. Cannibal Corpse remains as one of death metal’s most legendary acts, having released their 2012 full-length, ‘Torture,’ to acclaim from both audiences and critics. “We’re psyched to be headlining this year’s Decibel Magazine Tour along with Immolation and Napalm Death,” remarks Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster in a press release. “This is a lineup of bands that have been a consistent part of the death/grind scene for decades, and we’re proud to be a part of it. It will be a legendary night for extreme music.” Napalm Death also experienced a career-defining year in 2012, releasing the masterful ‘Utilitarian,’ which landed at No. 2 on our Top 10 Metal Albums of 2012 list. Sister Sin Unleash Video for ‘Hearts of Cold’

Swedish metal band Sister Sin recently revealed their new high octane video for ‘Hearts of Cold,’ the second single from their October 2012 release ‘Now and Forever.’ Directed by Eric Richter, the video plays out a story similar to the true crime that inspired the song, revolving around the gruesome tale of Juha Veikko Valjakkala and Marita Routalammi. Valjakkala and Routalammi are the Finnish couple who allegedly entered Sweden and killed a family of three after a fight over a bike. The two ruthless outlaws would go on to reportedly inspire the 1994 film ‘Natural Born Killers.’ In the exclusive clip seen below, frontwoman Liv Jagrell talks about the meaning behind the video, calling the crime one that truly impacted the band’s home country of Sweden. “For us in Sweden, we don’t have these kind of things so often,” recalls Jagrell. “Sweden was very frozen by this.” Jagrell went on to say that after being incarcerated, Valjakkala’s evil continued, explaining, “This guy, they put him in prison and I think he escaped like five times.” The video puts a new spin on the song and Jagrell gets to put her acting skills to the test throughout the video, playing the female role in the infamous duo, check it out above. Jagrell and Sister Sin are gearing up for a North American tour run that kicks off in February with some dates with Doro before initiating their own headlining run. Check out the dates below. Anthrax Tap Shadows Fall Guitarist Jon Donais to Fill Vacant Band Slot on Upcoming Tour

ESP Guitars / Megaforce Anthrax have not named a full-time replacement yet for exiting guitarist Rob Caggiano , but they will at least be covered for their upcoming tours. The band revealed that Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais will sit in with the band for their upcoming Fly Festival dates in India, the Soundwave Festival shows in a Australia and the group’s headlining slot on the  Metal Alliance trek in North America. Caggiano recently surprised fans by announcing his departure from Anthrax, stating he’d like to concentrate on producing and other studio work. With so many gigs on their 2013 itinerary, Anthrax acted swiftly to add Donais to their touring lineup “Jon is a bro and he’s a total f—ing ripper,” says Anthrax guitarist  Scott Ian of Donais. “I’ve worked with him twice on side projects and he tears it up. I’m excited to have him on my right burning up the stage with Anthrax. ’13′s gonna be a good year.” Donais expresses his excitement at the opportunity, adding, “I grew up on Anthrax. They’re the thrash scene, they’re one of the Big Four. I’d be crazy to not want to play with them. Initially, Rob called and told me he was leaving the band and asked if I’d be interested in filling in. Then Scott called me and everything fell into place.” The guitarist revealed that he’s also working closely with the man he’s replacing, as he and Caggiano are using Skype to work on solos and other guitar parts. “He’s being great,” reveals Donais. “I also have to give special thanks to my band [Shadows Fall] — Brian, Matt, Jason and Ed — who have been incredibly supportive and encouraged me to do this.” Shadows Fall, meanwhile, have t our dates scheduled from Jan. 26 through April 19. No word on who will be filling in for Donais on the block of dates that conflict with his stint on Anthrax’s trek. Mad Season’s ‘Above’ To Be Reissued With New Material in April

Columbia Records The supergroup  Mad Season , which included vocalist Layne Staley ( Alice in Chains ), guitarist Mike McCready ( Pearl Jam ), bassist John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts) and drummer/percussionist Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), released just one album, 1995′s ‘Above.’ Now, a deluxe edition of that album will be released on April 2. The three-disc set includes the original album along with previously unreleased tracks from Mad Season’s unfinished second album with new lyrics and vocals from Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees). Lanegan had previously provided guest vocals and some lyrics on ‘Above.’ The second CD is audio from the band’s final show. The third disc is a DVD of the ‘Live at the Moore’ show along with another previously unreleased Seattle show and other bonus footage. In addition to the digital and physical releases, an expanded two album vinyl edition will be released on Record Store Day, April 20. After its release in 1995, ‘Above’ went gold (shipping 500,000 copies). Work was started on a follow-up, with McCready, Saunders and Martin recording the basic tracks for 15 new songs. Due to health issues, Staley wasn’t able to make the recording sessions and the album was eventually shelved as band members moved on to other projects. Saunders died in 1999, and Staley passed away in 2002. In 2012, McCready, Martin and ‘Above’s’ original producer Brett Eliason got together and revisited material from the second album’s sessions. Mark Lanegan wrote lyrics and sang three of those songs, including one co-written by Peter Buck (R.E.M.)
