Fan Granted Wish to Spend a Day With Korn

YouTube Korn are one of the more fan-friendly acts going and the group was more than happy to hang out and meet one of their fans after receiving a request from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Korn supporter Tyler Sims suffers from Lupus, an auto-immune disease that leads to excruciating arthritic pain and other physical ailments. The youth says he always wanted to meet the group and was thrilled to finally do so. Last October, Sims and his family traveled to Phoenix where the band was scheduled to perform and he was finally able to meet his hard-rocking heroes. He says in a new video package showcasing his day that he was picked up in a limo and taken to the venue where he got to watch from the side of the stage as the band went through their soundcheck. After a break in the action, each of the band members met up with Sims and signed some merchandise, while singer Jonathan Davis sat down with the young man and they shared stories about their lives. The longtime Korn fan says, “He really connected with me kind of deep. It felt good that they actually cared.” Sims says that his struggles with Lupus have caused him some fairly painful times, but Korn’s music has always been there for him. He adds, “I’ve been a Korn fan since I was 10-years-old. As I got older, I really connected with all the lyrics and I mean every song means something to me. It says something to me and it really gets me through a lot of the rough times I go through.” Watch Tyler Sims’ Visit With Korn [button href=”http://loudwire.com/watch-wounded-warriors-film-korn-jonathan-davis/” title=”Next: Watch Jonathan Davis’ ‘Wounded Warriors’ Short Film” align=”center”]

Stone Sour Visit Mysterious Realms in Music Video For ‘Absolute Zero’

Roadrunner Stone Sour have just released a new video for ‘Absolute Zero,’ their first single off ‘House of Gold & Bones – Part 1.’ The tripped-out video documents a man trapped inside a bizarre graffiti-covered room with images of Stone Sour lining the walls. The clip for ‘Absolute Zero’ definitely offers some interesting creativity as the main character is stuck in some sort of other-worldly realm. Within this realm, two versions of Stone Sour perform the track throughout the area; one colored grey and the other colored gold. The man is presented with a choice, represented by two buttons in the respective colors of Stone Sour’s dueling identities. We won’t give away his decision, but it is sure to stir up the imagination of fans. “‘Absolute Zero’ is the anti-hero anthem of House of Gold & Bones – Part One,” Corey Taylor tells Rolling Stone . “It essentially lets you know that the hero isn’t perfect, but he will do whatever is necessary. The video is loosely based on the fact that in the short story, the hero ends up in a very strange world and he has to figure out what’s going on and what he’ll do.” Stone Sour are set to begin a comprehensive world tour beginning Nov. 25 in Paris, France. Dillinger Escape Plan Return to Studio, Guitarist Joins Wyclef Jean in Voting Ad

Mark Metcalfe, Getty Images The  Dillinger Escape Plan have been busy writing for their new disc, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Option Paralysis’ and now the band is targeting a November time frame to hit the studio with producer Steve Evetts. Guitarist Ben Weinman says the overall writing process for the new disc has been very inspired by the bands of his youth, drawing on his deep-rooted punk and hardcore influences. “Billy and I have just been listening to old hardcore records blasting through my house and then going down to the dungeon and just bashing,” Weinman reports (via ThePRP.com ). As far as the lyrics go, Weinman also offered some insight into that, saying, “Greg also seems to be in a very dark place lyrically. I think it’s going to be pretty creepy. If these songs don’t put some holes in the wall, I don’t know what will.” In addition to focusing on new music, Weinman is also using his voice to encourage people to go out and vote in the upcoming election. In a new video for the ‘Why I Vote 2012 / I’m Voting For’ campaign, Weinman and Wyclef Jean join forces to tell the public why they should vote. Check it out below.
