Singer Adam Gontier Explains Departure From Three Days Grace

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com As Three Days Grace fans continue to absorb the surprising news from earlier today (Jan. 9) that frontman Adam Gontier has left the band, the singer himself has released a heartfelt letter explaining his departure. We reported  that Three Days Grace have announced that Gontier left the band due to health issues and has been replaced by My Darkest Days singer Matt Walst for the band’s upcoming tour with Shinedown. With the unspecified ‘health issues’ being cited as the reason, speculation stirred that it might be connected to Gontier’s previously publicized struggles with drugs and addiction. But Gontier explains that he is perfectly sober and is just ready for a new chapter in his life. See Adam Gontier’s full ‘Address of Resignation’ from Three Days Grace below: To all of my fans, my friends, my family, these are my words coming from my heart, separate from my role as “lead singer of Three Days Grace”. I want you all to know how very thankful I am for your consistent love, your respect, and you’re undying support. It is important for me to address any concerns regarding my health being connected to drugs or addiction. The truth is, when I was struggling during that dark time in my life, I hit rock bottom, and I had the kindest of people reach out from all over the world, and reach their hands out to help pick me up. I am so blessed to be walking in the light now. I am reminded of your loyalty, always. The truth is, and I’m very proud to say this…, I am sober. That chapter in my life is over. There have been many defining moments in my life. My time as part of Three Days Grace is most definitely one of the miraculous ones. I have had so many tender hearted people share with me their stories. How I’ve touched, or changed their lives. My truth is that all of the love I have received has forever changed my life. Each letter I’ve read, every picture I’ve been sent, all of the voices I’ve heard sing along with me, I will forever remember, and never forget… After twenty years of being part of an ever evolving band, I have been inspired by life, to move on and to continue to evolve on my own terms. I could not be more grateful for all the souls who have travelled along with me. A journey I look back on with integrity, and a future I look forward to with such hope. I have always admired brave hearts. Life is always changing. I will continue to follow my heart, and what I love to do. I’m not sure what the next horizon will look like, but I do have all the faith in the world that whatever it is, It’s meant to be, and I have faith that blessings will continue to shine over all of us. I once heard a “brave heart” say: “When nothing is sure, everything is possible.” It’s because of my life’s journey, because of all of you, that I believe. Sincerely, with love, Adam Three Days Grace, with Matt Walst on vocals, are set to embark on a co-headlining tour with Shinedown at the beginning of February. Sal Costa Explains Exit From My Darkest Days

Island Def Jam My Darkest Days announced over the weekend that their guitarist Sal Costa (pictured at far right above) had left the band , but the musician’s exit actually dates back several months. With the news now out, the guitarist talked about the specifics of the split and why it took so long to reveal with Noisecreep . Costa explained that he actually left the band in October, but the decision to announce his departure was put on hold until everyone felt they were ready to proceed. He added, “Leaving a band isn’t easy. There are relationships from both the band, fans and people who work for you that you have to give an explanation to. I really wanted to sort out everything before any public announcements were made.” The mohawked musician says that even though he had prepared to leave for some time, he stayed on to play shows because he felt he owed it to the fans who paid their money to see the lineup as it was. He also stated that the group was still trying to sort out how they wanted to continue and he felt it would be unprofessional to leave them in a bad situation. As for why left, he explained, “When I think of a band, I think of a group of artists sitting in front of the same canvas painting different parts of the same scenery. I had felt for a long while that I was painting a different scene on a different canvas altogether. We were just not on the same page on many fronts. However, that is okay. Everyone is entitled to their own journey. That is the beauty of life. How can I tell my fans to follow their heart and dreams and then not do the same for myself? That would be hypocritical for me to stay.” Though the band has yet to name a replacement, they have stated in recent days that work has begun on their third studio album. Costa, meanwhile, is currently on his honeymoon after marrying his longtime girlfriend, and has yet to reveal his next musical project. Former Bury Your Dead Guitarist Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Gang Activity

Former Bury Your Dead guitarist Eric Ellis has just been sentenced to 20 years in prison for an insane list of charges. As an “associate” of Florida gang ‘The Guardians,’ the 28-year-old Ellis was one of five men found guilty of violating the ‘Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Ellis played guitar on Bury Your Dead’s breakout album ‘Cover Your Tracks’ in 2004, along with their 2006 album, ‘Beauty and the Breakdown,’ and the metalcore band’s 2008 self-titled record. The crimes committed by The Guardians are detailed in an  official FBI press release : ? The gang committed a series of violent felonies and crimes, including an extortion that left one man nearly dead; the choking of a young woman until she passed out; armed bank robberies; armed home invasions; daily cocaine and opiate sales; and theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from local stores. Arrests were made in November 2010 when an investigation revealed that the gang was preparing to commit additional home invasion robberies. The robberies committed by the Guardians resulted in the loss of almost $2 million to their victims. According to a Noisecreep interview from 2009, Ellis himself was a victim of a seemingly random gang assault, which he claimed was a initiation for the attackers. “I was beaten with a hammer and a bat,” Ellis described. “I had 56 contusions down the side of my body. I look back and am glad that didn’t happen to a kid at the show, or a girl coming out of the show. I am almost glad it was me.” Bury Your Dead have released two albums, ‘It’s Nothing Personal’ and ‘Mosh n’ Roll,’ since Ellis left the band in 2008. Korn Guitarist Munky Optimistic for Permanent Reunion With Brian ‘Head’ Welch

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire It’s no secret many Korn fans were bummed when Brian ‘Head’ Welch left the band, but he is set to reunite with the group for a couple of shows in 2013 after playing a one-off gig at the Carolina Rebellion festival this past year. ‘Head’ is set to join Korn for their dates at next year’s German rock festivals Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. The gigs will be his first full sets with the band since 2004. He’s one of the members of the band that helped define this sound.” Munky Talks About Reunion With Head  [button href=”http://loudwire.com/korn-welcome-back-guitarist-brian-head-welch-for-two-2013-shows/” title=”Next: Korn to Reunite With Head for Two Germany Gigs in 2012″ align=”center”]

Deuce Suing Former Hollywood Undead Bandmates for Assault and Battery

Photo by Anne Erickson Hollywood Undead and former vocalist Deuce didn’t part on the best of terms, but the singer alleges that things only escalated after he left the band with at least two of the band members beating him up outside of a Hollywood club. As a result, the vocalist has now taken legal action against his former bandmates. TMZ reports that after sharing the story of the attack earlier this year , Deuce consulted with attorneys and is ready to move forward with a lawsuit against his former cohorts claiming assault and battery. Following the incident, the singer told Loudwire , “You know when six guys come up and go after you, when you’re drunk – I don’t really see that as a tough lose. If they want to grab one person and I grab one person, I’m a small dude I weigh 140 pounds, if they want to go one on one fine – not six guys jumpin’ you out of nowhere. I don’t know what kind of move that is.” Deuce cited Dylan “FunnyMan” Alvarez and Jorel “J-Dog” Decker in his police report earlier this year, claiming that the pair continually punched and kicked him outside the Angels & Kings club in Hollywood on May 25. He’s suing for unspecified damages. The vocalist also claimed that there were a pair of men videotaping the attack as he was being beaten. Back in April, Deuce released his debut solo disc, ‘ Nine Lives ,’ which has yielded the hits ‘America’ and “I Came to Party.’ [button href=”http://loudwire.com/deuce-candidacy-president-video-i-came-to-party/” title=”Next: Deuce Showcases ‘I Came to Party’ Video” align=”center”]
