2013 Revolver Golden Gods Awards To Honor Metallica, Rob Zombie + Tony Iommi

Theo Wargo / Michael Loccisano / Paul Kane, Getty Images The fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods Award Show looks to be the event’s biggest ceremony to date, as Metallica , Rob Zombie and Tony Iommi will be among the honorees. This year’s Revolver Golden Gods takes place May 2 at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia and also features a headlining performance by Metallica. Metallica have been chosen to receive the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award, joining such past honorees as Rush , Motley Crue , Lemmy Kilmister and Ozzy Osbourne . Drummer Lars Ulrich stated, “Since the Revolver Golden Gods Awards is fast becoming THE most rocking awards ceremony in the hard rock world, we are beyond psyched to be at the receiving end of this shout out and in the distinguished company of Rush, Lemmy, Ozzy and Motley Crue. I was hanging out and presenting at the shenanigans two years ago and the energy in the room and the vibe backstage was beyond f—ing cool, so Metallica is chomping at the bit to partake in this year’s event.” The Golden God award, given to an honoree that embodies the spirit of hard rock and metal, will be presented to Rob Zombie this year. “What can I say?,” said Zombie. “It is a complete honor to receive this award and have my name join the list of such legendary past winners as Alice Cooper and Gene Simmons . Pretty cool deal to be part of the Golden God club.” The timing of the ceremony will also work well for Zombie, who also used the opportunity to announce that his next album, ‘Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor,’ will drop April 23, followed by the release of his ‘Lords of Salem’ film on April 26. The night’s other major honoree, Black Sabbath ‘s Tony Iommi, will be adding the Riff Lord award to his mantelpiece. Iommi says, “What a great honor to receive the Golden Gods Riff Lord Award for 2013, especially with our new Sabbath album coming out. I hope there will be some new favorite riffs in these songs.” Last year’s winner of the Riff Lord honor was Slash . The evening will also feature performances from Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch , Anthrax , Stone Sour , Dillinger Escape Plan and Halestorm , with more acts expected to be added in the coming weeks. Fans can currently vote in 11 other categories (listed below) at goldengodsawards.com . Tickets for the show, which will once again be hosted by Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho , can be purchased here . The event will broadcast live on AXS TV, and also via Xbox Live and Facebook. Rockers Sebastian Bach and Dee Snider will host the red carpet event prior to the ceremony. In related news, the first-ever “Revolver Road to the Golden Gods Tour” was announced along with the naming of the nominees. Stone Sour and In This Moment will team up for the run, which launches in March and runs up to the Golden Gods ceremony in May. In This Moment, ‘Blood’ (Sluggo Remix) – Exclusive Song Premiere

Robert John Kley, Century Media It’s been a breakout year for  In This Moment , thanks in large part to the single ‘Blood,’ the Top 10 hit from their 2012 album of the same name. As the year winds down, In This Moment are giving fans an extra treat as they’re offering a double-disc version of the album ‘Blood’ with several remixes exclusively via Hot Topic outlets. Loudwire is happy to team up with the band to premiere the Sluggo remix of their ‘Blood’ single (listen below). Sluggo’s knob-twiddling skills give the song an extra boost without diverting too far away from singer Maria Brink’s original vocal tracks. Rather, the remixed version adds some extra attitude to the track by delivering some jarring, industrial dubstep beats to the song. The Hot Topic two-disc release features the original studio version of the ‘Blood’ album on the first disc, and a selection of remixes on the bonus disc. In addition to the Sluggo remix of ‘Blood,’ the bonus disc also boasts a Mr. Kane remix of ‘Adrenalize,’ Nikka Bling’s remix of ‘Whore’ and a Mitch Marlow remix of ‘The Blood Legion.’ Plus, for good measure, In This Moment provide an intriguing cover of Nine Inch Nails ‘ classic ‘Closer’ on the extra disc. In This Moment recently wrapped their 2012 touring, sharing the stage with  Halestorm  and  Eve to Adam  on a late fall trek. Meanwhile, frontwoman Maria Brink has been nominated for Rock Goddess of the Year in our very own 2012 Loudwire Music Awards. The special two-disc set of In This Moment’s ‘Blood’ album will be available at Hot Topic outlets beginning tomorrow, Dec. 18. Halestorm, In This Moment + Eve to Adam Deliver Blistering Performances in Los Angeles

Photo: Kathy Flynn (3) While most bands are winding down their 2012 touring, there’s still one hard-rocking bill going that’s definitely worth the price of admission, as Halestorm , In This Moment , and Eve to Adam are making their way across the country and bringing attitude, theatrics, and just a good ‘ol fashioned rock show to audiences on a nightly basis. Their travels took them to the Los Angeles House of Blues in West Hollywood Wednesday night (Nov. 13), and the crowd was thoroughly rocked by the end of the night. Eve to Adam opened the evening in impressive form. They took the opening slot and warmed-up the audience for the night with a blistering set that featured their such standouts as ‘No Regret,’ ‘Run Your Mouth,’ and their salute to the military, ‘Reach.’ Singer Taki Sassaris, battling through a cold, kept the energy level high by jumping into the pit filled with fans and tossing his shirt midway through the set as the band rocked through a cover of Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell.’ Guitarist Guarav Bali handled the usual Steve Stevens solo from the track with ease, and really energized the audience for the remainder of the set. The show also offered a chance for Eve to Adam to showcase a pair of new songs, with ‘Bender’ feeling like a natural fit as a future audience favorite and ‘Straightjacket Supermodel,’ stirring up the crowd as well. Next up was the highly theatric Maria Brink and her band In This Moment. Brink, a vision in white with a long flowing cape, delivered a captivating performance, while ably backed by her grimy-looking cohorts. The group had fans waving their arms and clapping at will to tracks such as ‘Rise With Me,’ ‘Adrenalize,’ and ‘Beast Within,’ while the audience lit up with lighters and cell phones for ‘Burn.’ Their set ended with the transfixed crowd rocking out to the band’s recent single ‘ Blood .’ As for headliners Halestorm, they did not disappoint. Lzzy Hale and crew took the stage to the sounds of ‘Mz. Hyde,’ ‘Love Bites (So Do I), and ‘Freak Like Me.’ They had the look of a band on top of their game, and unlike the other two acts of the night, they took the opportunity to bring things down a bit. After the raucous ‘Rock Show,’ the band exited while Hale performed the track ‘Break In’ on piano at the side of the stage. She would be rejoined by the rest of the band for their excellent cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Gold Dust Woman’ before amping things up again with ‘Familiar Taste of Poison.’ An Arejay Hale drum solo with the shirtless redhead rocking away with furious abandon followed, with Hale even breaking out giant drum sticks to the delight of the audience. The rest of the show was filled with favorites like a cover of Skid Row’s ‘Slave to the Grind,’ “It’s Not You,’ ‘Here’s to Us,’ and the set closers ‘I Get Off’ and ‘I Miss the Misery.’ For the remaining dates on the Halestorm, In This Moment and Eve to Adam trek, check here .
