Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Metalheads in New York City got a treat on Friday night (Dec. 14) when Dethklok , All That Remains , Machine Head and the Black Dahlia Murder came into town for their rescheduled show at Roseland Ballroom. The show was a makeup gig for a concert that was canceled in the midst of Hurricane Sandy. The Black Dahlia Murder kicked off the night of metal with a vigorous performance that got fans going early on. Machine Head followed and put on one of the best sets of the night. Their performance was raw and powerful as they started with ‘This Is the End’ off of their latest album ‘Unto The Locust.’ They also dedicated ‘Aesthetics of Hate’ to the late Dimebag Darrell and conducted a moment of silence for Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker. Throughout the tour, Machine Head and All That Remains had switched slots on the bill, but there was a tad bit of drama when Machine Head frontman addressed the crowd to explain that earlier in the day he was hit by a cab and asked All That Remains to go on earlier. Flynn seemed to be a bit irritated as he went on to say that during the tour they had covered for All That Remains when they needed more time by going on right after the Black Dahlia Murder. (Watch Robb Flynn’s rant here .) All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte addressed the situation during their set by saying that they would have switched if they had known about the situation. The fans didn’t seem too phased by the misunderstanding since both bands gave stellar performances. Labonte and his crew kicked off their set with ‘This Calling,’ and performed new tracks such as ‘Down Through the Ages’ and ‘Stand Up,’ as well as their very popular tunes ‘Six’ and ‘Two Weeks.’ Guitarist Oli Herbert was nothing short of phenomenal throughout the band’s entire set and he shredded every note impeccably. Dethklok is truly a special experience whether you are a fan of the show ‘Metalocalypse’ or not. The band plays in front of a massive screen which shows clips from the animated series — it is a theatrical and massively entertaining set to say the least. Frontman and creator of the show, Brendon Small, is a truly talented individual and gave one hell of a performance along with guitarist Mike Keneally, bassist Bryan Beller and legendary drummer Gene Hoglan. As mentioned, the entire show was rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy, which was fervently cussed out by Brendon Small. Dethklok’s set included fan favorites the ‘Deththeme,’ ‘Murmaider,’ ‘Thunderhorse,’ ‘Awaken’ and many others. Dethklok also delighted the crowd with new tunes such as ‘I Ejaculate Fire,’ ‘The Galaxy’ and ended their set with the awesome tune ‘Crush the Industry’ off of their new record ‘Dethalbum III.’ Check out photos of all the bands performing in New York City: Dethklok: Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire All That Remains: Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Machine Head: Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire The Black Dahlia Murder: Liz Ramanand, Loudwire

Lamb of God Manager Responds to Randy Blythe’s Czech Republic Indictment
Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Earlier today, news broke from the Czech Republic that Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe has been officially indicted for the charge of manslaughter. Now, an update has come from the Lamb of God camp, who have issued a statement on the case’s most recent development. This latest development begins a new chapter of Blythe’s controversial case, and the indictment means that the District Court of ‘Prague 8′ has three months to either set a trial date for Blythe, or postpone the decision for the sake of continuing the ongoing investigation. Lamb of God manager Larry Mazer has responded to the indictment with a new statement. Mazer states: After a three month investigation, the prosecutor in the Czech Republic has decided to move forward with an indictment of Randy Blythe on the charge of manslaughter with intent to cause bodily harm. Obviously, we intend to fight vigorously against these charges as we feel that in no way did Randy intend to cause bodily harm on the young fan who subsequently died from injuries sustained at the show. As he has stated previously, Randy intends to go to Prague to defend himself at trial. While it is a tragedy that a Lamb of God fan died following a performance by the group, in no way do I feel that Randy did anything improper that led to the young man’s injuries and subsequent death. The price of a ticket to a show does not entitle audience members access to a band’s stage. In the years since the murder on stage of Dimebag Darrell Abbott, performers of all genres have had to become more guarded while performing in response to the dangers presented by fans trying to become part of the performance. We believe that Randy responded professionally to the numerous amount of fans rushing the stage that day, a number of them captured on videos that have been posted on the internet. We have testimony from the venue operator that acknowledges lax security and an improper barricade being used that evening. Numerous testimonies from fans also were contradictory as to the actions of the multiple fans that tried to access the stage. At this point, all that the band, myself, and our lawyers can do is to present a defense and try to convince the panel of judges who will hear the case that Randy is innocent of all charges and that his name and reputation need to be cleared and that he be permitted to carry on with his life and career always mindful that a fan passed away after a Lamb of God performance. Stay tuned for more on the Randy Blythe case as news breaks. Machine Head’s Robb Flynn Releases Video Diary Documenting Successful Hernia Surgery
Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Machine Head recently were forced off the road as frontman Robb Flynn could no longer soldier through the pain of his double inguinal hernia. The band left a massive tour with Dethklok, All That Remains and the Black Dahlia Murder so Flynn could undergo emergency surgery. The singer went under the knife yesterday (Nov. 14), filming the process along the way. Robb Flynn’s surgery diary begins with the frontman being driven to the hospital, acting less than enthusiastic about the procedure, but reassured fans, “I’m a little nervous; I going under anesthesia, but I’m stoked to be getting it done. I’ve been putting it off for too damn long.” The rest of the short film includes Flynn giving very specific details and updates throughout the day, while showing off his ballin’ purple hospital socks. As a dazed Flynn woke up from the surgery, he seemed relieved to be done with his hernia burden. “Apparently it went really good,” assured Flynn. “I got a couple of holes in me. I’ve got some IV going, I’ve got some good drugs on me; not feeling a whole lot of pain right now … apparently my double inguinal hernia is fixed.” Flynn went on to thank his bandmates and friends for their support during the process, of course adding that his family jewels were feeling sore. Machine Head Banned From Orlando, Florida ‘House of Blues’ by Walt Disney Company
Roadrunner Machine Head are currently on tour with Dethklok , All That Remains and the Black Dahlia Murder . With a lineup that is sure to both draw and excite metalheads, one unfortunate part of the United States is going to miss out on the full show, as Machine Head have been banned from ever performing on property owned by the Disney corporation. Thus, the Orlando, Fla. stop of the tour on Dec. 4 will be Machine Head-less. In 2007, Walt Disney Properties banned Machine Head from the ‘House of Blues’ venues in both Anaheim, Calif., and Orlando, the respective cities that are home to Disneyland and Disney World. Machine Head were banned by the company to due the band’s “violent imagery,” “inflammatory lyrics” and the group’s “undesirable fans.” These accusations come from the company that created ‘The Lion King,’ which features antagonist Scar plunging his claws into his brother Mufasa’s paws before allowing him to fall from a cliff only to be trampled to death by a heard of wildebeest. Disney also included the song ‘Savages’ in the film ‘Pocahontas,’ where the character Ratcliffe sings the lyrics, “They’re savages! / Barely even human … Dirty redskin devils,” about Native Americans. “Violent Imagery?” Check. “Inflammatory lyrics?” Massive check. Additionally, the entertainment company was happy to allow Motorhead to write the song ‘Dog-Face Boy’ for the animated film ‘Bolt,’ surely in an attempt to appeal to those same “undesirable fans” and lure them into movie theaters worldwide. The band released the following statement regarding the continuation of the Disney ban: For the third time in a row, the corporate powers behind Walt Disney Properties have once again pressured promoter Live Nation into canceling Machine Head’s performance at a House of Blues venue on Disney property, this time the December 4th show in Orlando, FL. While no one is willing to provide evidence that would prove unfavorable to Disney, sources close to events have suggested that Machine Head remains on a “banned list”, and while Dethklok, All That Remains and Black Dahlia Murder will still be allowed to play, the corporate powers at Disney have refused to allow Machine Head to perform. In 2007, Walt Disney Properties banned Machine Head from the House Of Blues venues in both Anaheim and Orlando, citing “violent imagery”, “inflammatory lyrics” and most appallingly “undesirable fans” as the reason. The diversity-impaired corporation began pressuring the promoter with vague threats of liability and reduced job security before placing Machine Head under an internal “review process”. Five days later, Walt Disney Properties would convey their alarming decision to the band, less than 48 hours before the first date of 2007′s anti-war, anti-religion, anti-conservative-themed “The Blackening” album headline run at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, CA. A stunned Machine Head announced the details and disgust regarding the situation and let fans know of the then-rescheduled show 70 miles away at The Glass House in Pomona. In retaliation for that public announcement, Disney cancelled the band’s then-upcoming performance at the House Of Blues in Orlando, citing the same absurd reasons, though they would only publicly state that they had “changed musical formats” at the venue. Machine Head wish to once again extend their gratitude to Live Nation and the House Of Blues for their poise and tolerance throughout these ridiculous developments, unbelievably transpiring here in these United States Of America in this year 2012. As they are not on Disney property and therefore not subject to the corporation’s alleged coercionary tactics, the current dates with Dethklok, All That Remains and The Black Dahlia Murder at the Dallas and Houston House Of Blues will go on as scheduled. Unfortunately, Machine Head’s Florida performance will not be rescheduled in an effort to avoid creating any conflict with the existing dates on the tour. All refund requests will be honored. Machine Head assure fans that all refund requests for the Dec. 4 show will be honored.
