Fozzy Debut ‘Evil Dead’-Inspired Video for ‘Sandpaper’

Century Media Records After a lengthy wait and a mound of paperwork completed, Fozzy have finally released their ‘Evil Dead’-inspired music video for ‘Sandpaper.’ For both fans of the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise and Fozzy, the video will not disappoint, paying tribute to memorable scenes from both ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Evil Dead 2.’ Although ‘Sandpaper’ was released as a single on July 17 and ‘Sin & Bones,’ the album which hones the track, was unveiled on Aug. 14, it’s taken until today (Oct. 2) for the video to see the light of day. Since Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows appears in the ‘Sandpaper’ video to sing his guest vocal spot, Warner Bros. needed to give their approval before Shadows could be legally cleared to appear. The process proved to be a lengthy one, but as Fozzy singer Chris Jericho assured us, the wait was worth it. For ‘Evil Dead’ fanatics, shots such as the ‘flying camera,’ the desolate cabin, possessed humans breaking through wooden panels, Jericho flying through the woods and many other scenes are both instantly recognizable and stirring. We found this bad-ass cabin in the woods in Atlanta, and just everything kind of fell together from there,” Jericho told us in a recent interview . “We found, right by the cabin, there was a civil war burial ground, and there was this creepy bridge that was near it, and the cabin couldn’t have been more perfect for what we were looking for. It looks exactly like the little Evil Dead cabin. Gojira Unleash Music Video for ‘Explosia’ Featuring New York City Concert Footage

Roadrunner French metal masters Gojira have unleashed a punishing video for ‘Explosia,’ the opening track to the band’s 2012 full-length, ‘L’Enfant Sauvage.’ The performance featured in the ‘Explosia’ video was taken from Gojira’s recent performance at New York City’s Webster Hall on Aug. 14. American metalheads had been anxiously awaiting the return of Gojira, who were originally set to join Lamb of God and Dethklok on tour throughout North America. Unfortunately, due to Randy Blythe ‘s Czech incarceration, the tour was canceled much to the disdain of fans. To make up for these canceled dates, Gojira were able to play a small number of club shows before heading up to Canada for the Heavy T.O. and Heavy MTL festivals. The new video for ‘Explosia’ captures the pure heaviness of Gojira’s live performance, which was recounted by Loudwire in our coverage of Gojira’s Aug. 9 show at New York City’s Santos Party House. Marilyn Manson Unveils Avant-Garde Video for ‘Hey, Cruel World…’

Cooking Vinyl Rock icon Marilyn Manson has been riding high since the release of eighth album and self-professed “comeback” record, ‘Born Villain.’ After already unleashing videos for the singles ‘No Reflection’ and ‘Slo-Mo-Tion,’ Manson has brought us his third visual offering from ‘Born Villain’ with a new video for the album’s opening track, ‘Hey, Cruel World…’ One interesting aspect of the video that should be pointed out is that ‘Hey, Cruel World…’ has been released entirely in black and white. When Manson set out to write the ‘Born Villain’ album, the musician chose to isolate himself in a small apartment, bringing only a few possessions with him into a room with white walls and a black floor. Either purposely or subconsciously, perhaps the video is a representation of that starting point. “It took me completely stripping my life away,” Manson told us in an interview shortly before the release of ‘Born Villain.’ “Moving into a place with black floors and white walls, putting all my things in storage and just taking my movies, my instruments, my cats and realizing, ‘I don’t need anything else. All I need to do is fill this [room] full of something.’” ‘Hey, Cruel World…’ is what fans have come to expect from a Manson offering; unnerving imagery, extreme close-ups and epileptic transitions, with a strange sense of hypnotic fascination. Bobaflex, ‘The Sound of Silence’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

New Ocean Media Bobaflex are sure to turn a few heads with their standout cover of Simon and Garfunkel ‘s ‘The Sound of Silence,’ and Loudwire is proud to present the exclusive premiere of the new video for the song. In the clip, the band members deal with an obsessed fan with murderous intent on her mind. Singer/guitarist Marty McCoy explains, “The idea for the video came from the song itself. ‘The Sound of Silence’ was written about the assassination of JFK, and how the nation felt as a whole during this tragic event. Today, we as nation experience the same feeling every time the news shows another unmeditated psycho, with a gun shooting innocent people, in places we thought were safe.” The video shows the fan’s growing obsession with the group through her shrine built at home featuring numerous pictures of the band. From there, she turns up at show after show before finally getting the nerve to hop in her car and speed off to find the group members to enact her plan. For Bobaflex, Simon and Garfunkel might not seem like an obvious choice. However, the hard rockers show they are more than capable with the vocal and musical skill to pull off the faithful and harmonic sounds that the original duo had for the first portion of the song before they finally rock-up the track, thus putting their own stamp on a classic. McCoy says, “Picking this song to cover was an easy choice. I had become a little disenfranchised with the way that music was being performed live. It seemed that everybody was using tracks with background vocals, guitars, and keyboards that weren’t really on stage. It had become so common that I wondered if we were missing the boat. Should Bobaflex be using tracks? The answer is … NO!!!! I was watching the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction one night and it all became clear. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel took to the stage with an acoustic guitar and one microphone. My mind was forever changed. Those two guys made music that was beautiful and real. The next day we were in the studio recording ‘The Sound of Silence’ and trying our best not to butcher it.” ‘The Sound of Silence’ is the third single from Bobaflex’s ‘Hell in My Heart’ album, which is out now. Arch Enemy Fight for Animal Rights in Graphic ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’ Video

Facebook: Arch Enemy Arch Enemy ‘s 2011 album, ‘Khaos Legions,’ continues it’s triumphant reign, as the band has just released a video for the album’s fourth single, ‘Cruelty Without Beauty.’ Targeted towards combatting animal cruelty, ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’ offers a disturbing look into the all-too-real truth behind vivisection, or the act of performing operations on live animals for the purpose of experimentation and scientific research. The lyrics for ‘Cruelty Without Beauty,’ which are transcribed throughout the video, address the horrors of vivisection. Vocalist Angela Gossow is an outspoken enemy of such scientific experiments, along with other forms of animal cruelty. “I’m very pleased we got this video done for one of my favourite songs off the ‘Khaos Legions’ album,” says Gossow. “The video is quite raw and extreme as it reflects the lyrics very well I believe, dealing with a subject matter close to my heart – animal cruelty and vivisection.” Gossow continues, “We want to thank the good folks at Peta2, Hardforce, Metalitalia and The Metal Circus for supporting a serious subject. All of us have been well aware that a video like this doesn’t find everybody’s acceptance. But rock music was always more than guitar riffs – it’s also the voice of the voiceless.” Although the video is disturbing, much of the animal cruelty footage is in black and white, along with being showcased in short bursts, which succeeds in spreading the song’s message without overwhelming the viewer.
