WWE.com Congratulations to Tool guitarist Adam Jones for becoming engaged to his girlfriend Korin! When one thinks of the most romantic ways to propose, the minds of some drift to fancy restaurants, long walks on the beach or during an intimate family get-together, but not Adam Jones. The guitarist and filmmaker arranged a unique proposal from ringside at the WWE Royal Rumble event. Adam Jones is an avid WWE fan and once performed the national anthem at the WWE SuperSlam 2011. Right before Royal Rumble hit the airwaves at 8PM ET last night (Jan. 27) from Phoenix, Ariz., a surprise message appeared on the giant WWE titantron. The text read, “Korin, Adam Jones wants to ask you something… ‘Will you marry me?’” Playing it cool the whole way, Jones unveiled a ring as he waited for Korin’s response. WWE got their cameras close into the action for the entire proposal, with Korin giving the happy ending of a “Yes,” which the crowd chanted, as well. The 2013 Royal Rumble pay-per-view was also notable for the explosive and surprising return of Fozzy vocalist and wrestling icon Chris Jericho , who took a break from WWE last year to play on the 2012 Uproar Festival tour. Avenged Sevenfold Members Guest on Machine Gun Kelly Track
Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Rap/metal collaborations have been common since Anthrax and Public Enemy teamed up for ‘Bring the Noise.’ Now, Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows and guitarist Synyster Gates have lent their talents to a new song by hip-hop artist Machine Gun Kelly. ‘Save Me’ (listen below) is the opening song on Kelly’s debut album ‘Lace Up,’ which was released today. He talked about the track recently on MTV’s RapFix Live. “I actually got one of the greatest metal bands to be featured on it, Avenged Sevenfold. It’s definitely an eargasm if you’re into cross genre.” In addition to A7X, ‘Lace Up’ has guest spots from hip-hop luminaries such as Lil Jon, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Jon, DMX, Young Jeezy, Twista, Tech N9ne, Dubo and Bun B. Speaking of Avenged Sevenfold collaborations, Shadows also shared vocals with Chris Jericho the song ‘Sandpaper’ off Fozzy’s recent album ‘Sin & Bones.’ He recently joined Fozzy onstage in Los Angeles to perform to perform the song. As fans anxiously await a full album of new material, Avenged Sevenfold have released the single ‘ Carry On ,’ which is from the ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ video game that’s set for a Nov. 13 release. That song has entered the Loudwire Cage Match Hall of Fame after defeating tunes by artists including Five Finger Death Punch, Soundgarden and Marilyn Manson . Listen to Machine Gun Kelly feat. M. Fozzy Debut ‘Evil Dead’-Inspired Video for ‘Sandpaper’
Century Media Records After a lengthy wait and a mound of paperwork completed, Fozzy have finally released their ‘Evil Dead’-inspired music video for ‘Sandpaper.’ For both fans of the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise and Fozzy, the video will not disappoint, paying tribute to memorable scenes from both ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘Evil Dead 2.’ Although ‘Sandpaper’ was released as a single on July 17 and ‘Sin & Bones,’ the album which hones the track, was unveiled on Aug. 14, it’s taken until today (Oct. 2) for the video to see the light of day. Since Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows appears in the ‘Sandpaper’ video to sing his guest vocal spot, Warner Bros. needed to give their approval before Shadows could be legally cleared to appear. The process proved to be a lengthy one, but as Fozzy singer Chris Jericho assured us, the wait was worth it. For ‘Evil Dead’ fanatics, shots such as the ‘flying camera,’ the desolate cabin, possessed humans breaking through wooden panels, Jericho flying through the woods and many other scenes are both instantly recognizable and stirring. We found this bad-ass cabin in the woods in Atlanta, and just everything kind of fell together from there,” Jericho told us in a recent interview . “We found, right by the cabin, there was a civil war burial ground, and there was this creepy bridge that was near it, and the cabin couldn’t have been more perfect for what we were looking for. It looks exactly like the little Evil Dead cabin. Then we started doing all the effects that were involved, all the gags that were involved, the point-of-view camera and being attacked by the vine.” Be sure to check out Fozzy’s music video for ‘Sandpaper,’ available for streaming exclusively at WWE.com by clicking below: Click the Image Below to Watch Fozzy’s Video for ‘Sandpaper’ Century Media
Fozzy Joined by Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows in L.A. for Surprise ‘Sandpaper’ Performance
Jason Merritt / Adam Bettcher, Getty Images Fozzy treated Los Angeles fans to a show at the Roxy last night (Sept. 27). Right before the band began to play the single ‘Sandpaper’ from their latest album, ‘Sin & Bones,’ the crowd was surprised by Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows , as he took the stage with Fozzy to perform guest vocals. Before jumping onstage with the band, M. Shadows was recruited to the studio by Fozzy to be featured on ‘Sandpaper’ as they were recording ‘Sin & Bones.’ With the help of M. Shadows, Fozzy’s ‘Sandpaper’ went undefeated in our Cage Matches, earning a retirement to the Cage Match Hall of Fame . There is also a ‘Evil Dead’-inspired music video for ‘Sandpaper,’ that features a cameo from M. Shadows, but it has yet to be released. Chris Jericho told us about the upcoming ‘Sandpaper’ video during our recent interview with the singer. “It kind of started from that and then we said, ‘What if we do a whole Evil Dead-type homage?’ And then we found this bad-ass cabin in the woods in Atlanta, and just everything kind of fell together from there. We found, right by the cabin, there was a civil war burial ground, and there was this creepy bridge that was near it, and the cabin couldn’t have been more perfect for what we were looking for.” Jericho continues, “We just filmed M. Shadows’ stuff too, so he’s going to be in the video. So I think it’s going to be something no one else has seen before. It’s very, very cool and it’s just what we wanted.” The A7X fan site Deathbat News also reports that Chris Jericho and M. Shadows got matching Jack-O-Lantern tattoos, as pictured below: Twitter: IAmJericho [button href=”http://loudwire.com/fozzy-chris-jericho-uproar-festival-sandpaper-more/” title=”Watch Loudwire’s Interview with Fozzy’s Chris Jericho” align=”center”] ?
