Lamb of God Book First 2013 Show at Spain’s Resurrection Festival

Epic Lamb of God ‘s future remains murky while the remainder of Randy Blythe ‘s manslaughter trial looms, but the band is making sure to think positively, and that includes booking their first show of 2013 in hopes that their frontman will eventually be cleared of charges. The band revealed in a tweet their participation in the 2013 Resurrection Festival in Spain this August. The three-day music weekend runs Aug. 1-3 in Viviero, Spain. On top of the band’s tweet, the festival created a new teaser clip showing off the participants in this year’s event. Featured in the clip were mentions of Killswitch Engage , D.R.I., Comeback Kid, Millencolin and yes … Lamb of God. In addition, the bands from the first festival announcement were featured in a full bill at the end of the clip. Those acts include Slayer , Bad Religion , Black Flag and Trivium . Blythe returned to the Czech Republic earlier this month to answer to charges of his alleged involvement in the death of a fan at a show in 2010. The frontman was accused of pushing the audience member off the stage, with the fall causing a fatal head injury that presented itself well after the show took place. A delay in the trial was called so that additional witnesses could testify. Before returning home, Blythe visited the prison  where he was held last year. He’s expected back in court in Prague on March 4. Slash Doesn’t Believe Randy Blythe Is ‘in Any Way, Shape or Form’ Guilty of Manslaughter

Jo Hale, Getty Images / Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Slash has been making his way around the world in support of his ‘ Apocalyptic Love ‘ album, and during a recent visit to the Czech Republic he shared his thoughts on the Randy Blythe manslaughter trial and his perception of the legal system from the outside. The guitar great told the Czech Republic’s Be in TV, “I know as much as I’ve been told from everybody I know in that camp. It’s a strange unique situation. I think that when he first came over here and put up his bail and they never let him out and they kept paying and they kept paying and paying and paying and they never let him out, I said, ‘What the f— is going on there.’ I mean, that’s a whole different type of law to me, where it’s just different. And so finally they let him out and now it’s actually going to trial.” The guitarist added, “I really don’t think he, in any way, shape or form, is guilty. So they’re gonna let this thing run its course I suppose. And because the judicial system here is so different that he was able to stay in jail here so long, who knows what the verdict is gonna end up being?! It’s hard to say.” The Lamb of God frontman recently returned home after some of the witnesses in the case failed to appear, leading to a delay . Slash concludes, “It’s a very long and, unfortunately, it’s a very expensive process. It’s like f—, really?!” During his interview, Slash also addressed his progress toward a follow-up to the ‘Apocalyptic Love’ album and his work on the Slasher Films horror flick ‘Nothing Left to Fear.’ Take a listen to Be in TV’s entire interview with Slash, including the comments on Blythe (at 5:02 into the clip), below. Randy Blythe Trial, Day 2: Deceased Concertgoer’s Friends Testify Against Lamb of God Frontman

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire As Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe ‘s Czech manslaughter trial remains in session, local media continues to cover the case’s developments from inside the courtroom. As we reported, Blythe began his trial yesterday (Feb. 4), claiming his innocence, and now there are new details to share from Day 2 of the trial. Czech news site Blesk.cz  has just put up a rundown of what occurred on Day 2 of Randy Blythe’s trial, which was full of witnesses testifying about the 2010 concert incident. Blythe was supported in court by his wife, Cindy, his parents and Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler , who took the stand yesterday to testify on behalf of Blythe. Various friends of the deceased concertgoer, known as ‘Daniel. N,’ gave their testimonies as well, holding Blythe responsible for Daniel’s death, which they say was caused by head trauma suffered at a 2010 Lamb of God show after Blythe allegedly pushed Daniel offstage. Yesterday in court, Blythe blasted security at the venue, saying they made no effort from stopping fans from jumping onstage. While he acknowledged there was an incident or two with another fan who rushed the stage at the show, he said he never made contact with Daniel. In today’s testimonies, one friend of the deceased fan stated, “He [Randy Blythe] pushed him off the stage. Dan fell on the back of his head. After the concert was over, something wasn’t right about Daniel and we called an ambulance.” One witness also claimed that Blythe asked Daniel if he was okay after taking the fall, and when Daniel replied, “Yes,” Lamb of God continued with their performance. According to The Gauntlet , All three witnesses offered different versions as to what actually transpired, but they were all in agreement in claiming that Blythe was “very aggressive during the concert.” “One person was kicked, and another strangled on stage,” one witness claimed. All three witnesses also denied that any announcement was made by venue staff to not climb over barricades, get close to security or to make their way onto the stage.
