Ipecac Tomahawk are a unique band in more ways than one. Besides honing an incredibly eclectic and experimental style, Tomahawk happen to be comprised of modern rock heavy hitters from legendary bands such as Faith No More , Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, the Jesus Lizard and Helmet . The band recently released their fourth studio album, ‘Oddfellows,’ and we’re proud to debut Tomahawk’s new music video for the album’s title track exclusively here on Loudwire. Faith No More / Fantomas / ex-Mr. Bungle legend Mike Patton formed Tomahawk in 2000 shortly after Faith No More called it a day in 1998 (they’ve since reunited to tour). Housed within Patton’s record label, Ipecac Recordings, Tomahawk is comprised of former Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison, ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier and bassist Trevor Dunn, whose resume includes stints in Mr. Bungle, Fantomas and Melvins among others. The video for ‘Oddfellows’ complements Tomahawk’s intense and strange sound perfectly, splattered with captivating animation on top of performance footage from the musical collective. Before the trek kicks off, TFK are unleashing their new music video for ‘War of Change,’ off the band’s independently released, No. 1-selling Billboard Hard Rock album ‘The End is Where We Begin,’ and you can watch it exclusively here on Loudwire. Frontman Trevor McNevan says ‘War of Change’ is about the beauty and hardship of change. “This song embodies the heart and soul of this record [‘The End Is Where We Begin’],” he explains. “I think it captures that urgency – that there are wars going on all around us and inside us. There’s something beautiful about ‘the sound of change,’ and I think this song covers those ideals and the essence of battle. The iconic artwork has been replicated many times over the years, and Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is the latest to pay tribute, recreating the image for ‘ESPN The Magazine’s new music issue. The magazine has turned their focus to sports loving musicians for their latest issue, with Pearl Jam ‘s Jeff Ament recently sharing his basketball past in a piece that turned up prior to the issue’s release. Incidentally, the image of Lochte swimming with the almighty dollar in front of him seems apt as since his Olympic victories the commercial opportunities have opened up. He recently signed on to star in the reality series , ‘What Would Ryan Lochte Do?’ The ‘ESPN The Magazine’ music issue hit newsstands today (Feb. 8). February 7th, 2013 Metalkult Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Marilyn Manson has been known to heighten the shock value at shows, but what happens when the “shock” is unintentional? During a show in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday night (Feb. 6), Manson collapsed and vomited onstage in the midst of the fan-favorite track ‘The Beautiful People.’ According to the Ottawa Citizen , the vocalist was rocking just like normal during the performance, then went down to one knee, which seemed like a traditional rock star move to get closer to the audience, but as seen in the video below, he falls to the stage and begins to vomit. The band kept rocking along as if everything was okay, but after a brief period members of Manson’s road crew made their way to the stage and carried the singer off. ‘The Beautiful People’ is Manson’s usual set-closer, so it is assumed that it would have been the last song of the night. During the show, Manson performed a mixture of new songs (‘Hey Cruel World,’ ‘No Reflection’) and classics (‘mOBSCENE,’ ‘Personal Jesus,’ ‘Sweet Dreams’ and ‘The Dope Show’). At press time, an update on Manson’s condition has not been released and it is not known how this will affect his current itinerary . Update: TMZ reports that Manson was suffering from the flu. February 7th, 2013 Metalkult IHeartRadio.com Slash is digging a little deeper into his ‘ Apocalyptic Love ‘ album with a new video for the track, ‘Anastasia.’ The clip is a live performance of the song, presented by I Heart Radio, that shows off the guitarist and his band’s live prowess. Slash, in particular, is featured within this clip as his dexterity on the guitar is on full display. The musician rocks some serious scales while Myles Kennedy delivers the powerhouse vocals on the track. ‘Anastasia’ follows ‘You’re a Lie,’ ‘Standing in the Sun’ and ‘Bad Rain’ as the fourth single from the ‘Apocalyptic Love’ disc. Slash is currently on tour in Europe with dates booked through March 4 in Dublin. The guitarist and his band will also perform at Ozzfest in Tokyo, Japan May 11. Slash’s promotion may take a bit of a back seat as the year rolls on as singer Myles Kennedy has been working toward Alter Bridge ‘s next album . February 5th, 2013 Metalkult Century Media Los Angeles experimental metal band Intronaut are set to release their fourth full-length album, ‘Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones),’ on March 19, and the band is proving itself as a force to be reckoned with in the metal world. Now, the band has unveiled both the album art and full track listing of ‘Habitual Levitations.’ Intronaut are set to open a monster metal tour with Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders beginning Feb. 11 in Orlando, Fla. The trek will likely offer the world’s first substantial taste of Intronaut’s new material. The band’s most recent release, ‘Valley of Smoke,’ caught the attention of metalheads worldwide, gaining much critical praise in the process. In fact, Justin Chancellor of Tool even performed as a second bassist on the 2010 album’s title track.
