Rage Against the Machine to Release 20th Anniversary Editions of Self-Titled Debut Album

Sony Legacy Rage Against the Machine and Sony Legacy are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band’s eponymous debut in a big, big way with the incredibly deluxe release ‘Rage Against the Machine –XX,’ which will be available in several configurations on Nov. 27. The politically charged 1992 album, which meshed rap and rock in a fresh, uncompromising way that has not been adequately copied since, fused Zack de la Rocha’s fire-in-his-belly lyrical proclamations with Tom Morello’s unique, sounds-like-a-turntable guitar tone. The incendiary, call-to-arms original was released in November of 1992 and the time to celebrate its power and legacy is now. ‘Rage Against the Machine – XX’ is newly remastered and will be offered in three formulations: -The 20th Anniversary Edition Deluxe Box Set houses two CDs, two DVDs, one 12″ 180gm vinyl LP, one 40-page booklet and a two-sided poster. -The 20th Anniversary Special Edition collects two CDs and a bonus DVD featuring six tracks in an oversized softpack. -The 20th Anniversary Edition single compact disc includes three bonus tracks. Additionally, a 12″ 180gm vinyl edition–a picture disc and a facsimile reproduction–of the original LP has been remastered and will be available, sans bonus tracks. Compact Disc One of the newly remastered ‘Rage Against the Machine – XX’ will include the original album in its entirety, as well as three collectible b-sides from the era. Compact Disc Two presents the original Rage Against the Machine demo tape, which was recorded in 1991 and sold for $5 at the merch table at the band’s earliest gigs. So it’s quite an artifact and a piece of RATM history, a “must own” for collectors, since it helped the band secure its record deal with Epic. This marks the first time the entire demo tapes have seen a full official release. DVD #1 included in the Deluxe Box Set features Rage Against the Machine’s free concert in Finsbury Park on June 2010, which was a “thank you” to U.K. fans for making ‘Killing in the Name’ the U.K.’s No. 1 single during Christmas Week 2009. Also included are music videos plus live concert performance clips. DVD #2 features Rage’s debut album, focusing on live performance from 1991-1994 and includes the full set of RATM’s first public performance as well as various live, rare clips. New liner notes were penned specifically for this release by friend, fan and hip-hop icon Chuck D. of Public Enemy. If you’ve got a RATM diehard in your life, your holiday shopping just got a whole lot easier. CD 1 – Rage Against The Machine – Remastered 01. Bombtrack 02. Killing In The Name 03. Now Dead Sara are set to get their biggest exposure yet by opening for UK rockers Muse on their 2013 North American trek. Now that we are going on tour with them it is surreal!” Armstrong goes on to say, “We never thought in a million years it would happen like this. We will learn so much watching them every night – we are extremely excited!! 2013 is looking great!” Dead Sara have been on the road nonstop in support of their critically acclaimed self-titled album. Sebastian Bach and Model Girlfriend Minnie Gupta Call It Quits

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com / YouTube Sebastian Bach is back on the market. After a two year romance with model Minnie Gupta, the two have called it quits and have gone their separate ways. The former Skid Row singer made the announcement himself on Twitter , telling his followers, “After almost 2 years together, Minnie Gupta and myself have decided to go our separate ways. I will always be grateful for our time together and I will always have love in my heart for Minnie.” He continued to shed praise on Gupta, saying, “I cannot thank her enough for her companionship, love, and inspiration that resulted in my favourite album I have ever recorded. I wish Minnie nothing but the best in life, because that’s what she deserves. She is a truly special girl and I am so very lucky to have known her. Until we meet again….” Bach started dating Gupta after going through a divorce with his wife of 18 years, Maria Bierk. The two broke up in 2010 and Bach cited the divorce and the new love affair with Gupta as driving forces behind his last solo disc ‘Kicking & Screaming.’ In an exclusive interview with Loudwire last year, Bach talked about that inspiration, saying, “A lot of the songs have to do with breaking up and relationships and some of them have to do with finding a new love, that’s what the song ‘Kicking & Screaming’ is about.” He also commented on Gupta’s personal impact on his creative process. “I’ll take as much of Minnie as I can get,” Bach explained. “She’s so beautiful and I love spending time with her. It was an amazing experience to meet her and be with her during the recording of this record. It made it a lot easier for me.” Gupta appeared in the video for the song ‘Kicking & Screaming’ (watch below). Sounds like an amicable split. Best of luck to both Bach and Gupta and their future affairs of the heart. Minnie Gupta in Sebastian Bach’s ‘Kicking & Screaming’ Video

Green Day Bow Out of 2012 Voodoo Experience

Spencer Kaufman, Loudwire Green Day were planning to head up the 2012 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience over Halloween weekend, but given singer Billie Joe Armstrong ‘s recent entry into rehab for treatment of substance abuse issues, they’ve now bowed out of the performance. The timing has not been the best in the world for Green Day, as the singer’s meltdown at the iHeart Music Festival in Las Vegas and subsequent rehab announcement came just ahead of the release of the group’s ‘¡Uno!’ album. At the time, the band issued a statement apologizing for the incident at the Las Vegas event, revealing Armstrong’s decision to attend rehab, and regretfully announcing that some of their promotional appearances would be postponed as a result. Drummer Tre Cool issued the band’s statement on their exit from the Voodoo Experience. It read: Canceling shows is something we rarely do. We never want to let our fans down, and we are grateful for all of you being understanding during this time. Meanwhile, Voodoo Music + Arts Experience organizers, Rehage Entertainment, issued their own statement on the matter. It read: We, like everyone, were looking forward to having Green Day back at Voodoo. Their 2004 performance was one of the festival’s greatest. We are obviously disappointed in the news, but realize the health and well being of Billie Joe is the most important thing right now. We wish him and the entire Green Day family the best and offer them our full support. The Voodoo Experience will go on without Green Day. The festival runs Oct. 26-28 at New Orleans’ City Park. Even without Green Day, the lineup is pretty solid. Neil Young & Crazy Horse, the Avett Brothers , Justice, Silversun Pickups , AWOLNATION, Jack White , Skrillex , and Coheed & Cambria are among the top performers on this year’s bill. Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor Offers Insight Into How to Destroy Angels

Facebook: How To Destroy Angels Trent Reznor is a man who wears many hats. Along with fronting the legendary Nine Inch Nails , Reznor has lent his talents to composing film scores, original music for video games, and has produced albums for Marilyn Manson and Jane’s Addiction . Reznor latest project is an upcoming EP from his group How to Destroy Angels. For those of you who are unfamiliar with How to Destroy Angels, the group consists of Reznor, fellow Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (who composed the film soundtrack for ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ with Reznor), Nine Inch Nails art director Rob Sheridan and vocalist Mariqueen Maandig, who also happens to be Trent Reznor’s beautiful wife. The band released a self-titled EP in 2010, with their second one, ‘An Omen EP’ to see a release in November. “We’ve been working on this kind of in the shadows throughout ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ soundtracks since the core people are all kind of in the same area,” says Reznor in an interview with BBC1 Radio. “We’ve just been chipping away at this thing, and it’s been a nice pressure release valve really to have something to dump this energy into that doesn’t fit the other containers. It’s been fun. He continues, “We’ve just been playing around with the idea of the way that people consume music and listen to it and how big the chunks are. I think coming off of releasing ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ soundtrack that clocked in at 2 hours, we thought let’s do something that’s more manageable, digestible little bits here.” Reznor also speaks about an upcoming 2013 full-length for How to Destroy Angels. “Part of what’s on the EP is taken from a full-length record that’s 98% finished. That’s scheduled for a release at the beginning of next year.” Yesterday, How To Destroy Angels released ‘Keep It Together’ as the first single from ‘The Omen EP.’ Click below to listen: [button href=”http://loudwire.com/trent-reznor-how-to-destroy-angels-new-single-keep-it-together/” title=”Listen to How To Destroy Angels, ‘Keep it Together'” align=”center”]
