Kid Rock Partners With Harley-Davidson for 110th Anniversary Celebration

Mike Ehrmann, Getty Images If silver marks a 25th anniversary and gold is for 50, apparently the perfect gift for a 110th anniversary is “rock,” and that’s exactly what Harley-Davidson will get for their latest milestone celebration as Kid Rock  has signed on to play a bash for the company. The vocalist has just announced an exclusive partnership with the iconic motorcycle company that will include his appearance at the Labor Day weekend concert in Milwaukee. In addition, Harley-Davidson has come on board as the main sponsor of Rock’s ‘Rebel Soul’ tour , which launches tonight (Feb. 2) in Kansas City. As part of their backing, Harley-Davidson plan to offer unique fan experiences at each of Rock’s 60 planned tour stops. ‘What’s not to love about Harley?” said Rock. “They are the backbone of American culture, the flagship American brand. I am honored and excited to partner with this legendary icon that has helped define American freedom at home and abroad. In 110 years, no one has done a better job of representing America — there is NOTHING that screams America like Harley-Davidson.” Harley-Davidson Chief Marketing Officer Mark-Hans Richter added, “Kid Rock puts on a great show and embodies a lot of what Harley-Davidson and our fans stand for — freedom, independence, self-expression and the rebel spirit. We’re excited to take an unprecedented ride with him during the Rebel Soul tour.” As part of the partnership, Harley-Davidson will also co-brand Kid Rock’s ‘Rebel Soul’ merchandising featuring the song lyric, “ I can’t hear you over the rumble of my freedom .” [button href=”” title=”Next: Check Out Other 2013 Must-See Rock Concerts” align=”center”]

Josh Todd on Buckcherry’s Tour With Kid Rock: ‘It’s a Perfect Combination’

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire / Mary Ouellette, Buckcherry are set out to hit the road with Kid Rock for a U.S. arena tour across in support of their upcoming album ‘Confessions,’ due February 19. When we recently spoke with Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd he reminisced about the last time he toured with Kid Rock. “We toured with him back on our first record with Fuel and Kid Rock’s awesome,” Todd told Loudwire. “I remember the first time I met him, it was at the Sapphire Supper Club in Florida this little place and I think he was in an RV at the time – this was before ‘Bawitdaba’ took off.” Todd adds, “He just remained the same guy from then to now and that’s why I really like him. He’s just a cool guy, he’s my type of person and we’re all really looking forward to playing with him. He just does what he wants to do and that’s what Buckcherry’s all about so I think it’s a perfect combination, a rocking tour.” The singer and father also spoke about the one thing he had to have on tour with him. “I got into this thing where my youngest daughter — if I have something of hers, it’s good luck to me.” He continues, “I have this little skull barrette she used to wear and that’s always in my toiletries bag where my Q-Tips are. So every day I have to open it up to use a Q-Tip, I see it and I smile and I think about her and just feel good.” The Buckcherry / Kid Rock tour kicks off Feb. 2 in Kansas City, Mo. Buckcherry Unleash ‘Gluttony’ Video

AOL Buckcherry have been singing about excess with their new single, ‘Gluttony,’ and now they’re sharing a visual representation of the sin with their latest music video. The band recently shot the clip at a church in North Hollywood, Calif., with actor-turned-director Billy Jayne overseeing the shoot. The video finds Josh Todd and the band leading the congregation toward temptation. Guitarist Keith Nelson says of Jayne’s contribution, “It was really refreshing to see his take on what we’re doing because he totally gets the music, he’s connecting with it, and he’s taking it to a different place than a guy who does videos for a living. We got a guy who actually makes movies and TV shows to put his spin on it and it’s been really positive.” Todd recently told Loudwire about the track, “It’s just about trying to control your behavior. They always say that you have to do everything in moderation and that’s never been my experience. One is okay, two is better, three is fantastic and four is the best. I want to consume everything. I want to go big or go home. I’m either on 11 or I’m asleep.” The vocalist also tells  Noisecreep , who premiered the clip, “Because the record is called ‘ Confessions ,’ we filmed the video in a church. We got Jesus down here — which is killer — and we got a lot of our fans in it, which is amazing. They came out on their own time and have really put a lot of sweat equity, so thank you to them.” In the video itself, the full congregation seem to be giving in to excess, while one member remains to fight temptation, only to have both Todd and Jesus bending his ear throughout the clip. The ‘Confessions’ album is due in stores Feb. 19, but fans may pre-order the disc right here . Buckcherry have tour dates booked with Kid Rock that were scheduled through early March, but a second leg has just been added, with the trek now extended into April. The Black Keys Sign on for Grammy Performance, Announce New Album Start Date

Theo Wargo, Getty Images The Black Keys were one of the top nominees when the Grammy Award nominations were announced last month and the band has confirmed they will take the stage to perform  at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 in Los Angeles. The group is among the first confirmed performers for music’s biggest night. They’ll join alterna-rockers fun. and Mumford & Sons , pop star Rihanna and country favorite Taylor Swift in playing this year’s ceremony. The band received five nominations — Album of the Year and Best Rock Album for ‘El Camino’ and Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for ‘Lonely Boy.’ In addition, singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach also earned a solo nod as Producer of the Year. While ‘El Camino’ has been a stellar record for the band and the group still has plans to promote it on tour, the duo are also trying to stay ahead of the game and have set aside some time to record for their next studio album this month. Speaking with Uncut magazine (excerpted by NME ), Auerbach stated, “We’re going to start making the new album in the second week of January and we’re hoping to have it done by some time in March. Then we have a couple of weeks of touring, then we’re going to take the summer off, which we haven’t done in a while.” Although there is studio time blocked out, the vocalist admits, “The record isn’t written yet. We’ll do it when we get in the studio. This is when we both work best, when we’re dying to make an album. All of our records take place in the studio, in that we make stuff up while we’re there.” As for the touring that Auerbach spoke of, he’s referring to the handful of shows they have scheduled for the spring with the Flaming Lips . The short, four-date run consists of performances in Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and the Black Keys’ home base of Nashville. The Black Keys / Flaming Lips 2013 Tour: 4/28 — Kansas City, Mo. — Sprint Center 4/30 — Pittsburgh, Pa. — Consol Energy Center 5/2 — Atlanta, Ga. — Aaron’s Amphitheatre 5/3 — Nashville, Tenn. — Bridgestone Arena [button href=”” title=”Next: The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Gets Married” align=”center”]

Machine Head Perform Pantera’s ‘F—ing Hostile’ in Memory of Dimebag Darrell

Facebook: Machine Head It’s been eight years since the tragic onstage murder of Pantera / Damageplan guitar legend ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott , but the utter outpouring of love, respect and the desire to memorialize the man has not diminished one iota. Among those who honored Dimebag’s legacy this year are  Robb Flynn and the rest of Machine Head . On Saturday, Dec. 8, the eighth anniversary of Dimebag’s passing, Machine Head performed a set in Atlanta, Ga. After concluding the song ‘Beautiful Mourning,’ Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn began to address the Atlanta audience about the death of Dimebag, along with the morbid and unfortunate anniversary day. “I’m sure all of you know, or maybe some of you don’t know, but today is Dec. 8th,” begins Flynn. “Eight years ago; this is f—ing mind-boggling to even believe, but eight years ago, Dimebag Darrell was killed onstage, man. The legacy that that man left in the world, the footprint that that dude left on the f—ing entire metal universe was unf—ing believable.” Flynn continues, “We called him a brother, man. We were friends. We had so many incredible drunken f—ing nights and hung over mornings on those two tours that we did with them. He was an amazing, amazing individual … We’re not here to celebrate his death, we’re here to celebrate his life right now, ladies and gentlemen.” After the heart-wrenching speech, Machine Head blasted into a cover of Pantera’s ‘F—ing Hostile,’ which received an explosive reaction from the crowd (watch below). Halfway across the country in Kansas City, Mo., Hellyeah , Lamb of God , In Flames and Sylosis were also paying tribute to the beloved guitarist by kicking back shots of Black Tooth Grin, Dimebag’s signature mix of whisky and Coke.
