Listen to their song ‘The Abandoning’ here . Welch recently joined the Korn onstage for the first time since his departure to play ‘ Blind ‘ with Korn at the 2012 Carolina Rebellion festival. Soon after, Korn guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer told The Pulse of Radio that he would be open to Welch one day rejoining the band . “It’s just something that has to be super well-planned and it has to come naturally,” says Munky. “And our experience with him on Saturday has all started from a positive place, and it wasn’t forced and it was just natural. So I think if everything optimistically runs like that, that’s all I can hope for. I’m really happy just to reconnect with my old friend.” Check out the websites for the upcoming Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals. Courtney Love Reportedly Trying to Bring Nirvana Musical to Broadway or Big Screen

Jemal Countess, Getty Images Courtney Love is reportedly developing a Nirvana -based musical for Broadway or the big screen. The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is apparently teaming up with music industry manager Sam Lutfi, who is currently in a legal battle with former client Britney Spears. According to the New York Daily News , Lutfi spoke about working with Love to create the Nirvana musical during his testimony in the current Britney Spears trial. “[Courtney Love and I] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalog, based on her life and Kurt Cobain’s,’ said Lufti during the trial. He claims to be co-managing Love, whom he calls “an accomplished actress.” “She’s been talking about doing a movie or play about her life with Kurt for a long time,” claims an insider to the New York Daily News. “So far, nothing has materialized from it… It’s been her dream to get her side of the story out.” Courtney Love was recently forced to hand over rights to use Kurt Cobain’s name, likeness and image to daughter Frances Bean Cobain , due to the terms of a $2.75 million loan that Love took against Frances Bean’s personal trust fund in 2010. Nirvana seem to be a hot topic in the entertainment world lately, as a writer from ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is reportedly creating a sitcom for CBS called ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit.’ [button href=”http://loudwire.com/nirvana-you-know-youre-right-top-21st-century-hard-rock-songs/” title=”Nirvana – Top 21st Century Hard Rock Songs” align=”center”]

Foo Fighters Officially Announce Hiatus

Larry Busacca, Getty Images Frontman Dave Grohl  has officially announced that  Foo Fighters  will indeed be taking an extended hiatus. There’s no word on when Foo Fighters will play a show or record an album again, with Grohl himself writing, “I was serious. I’m not sure when the Foo Fighters are good to play again.” As we recently  reported , Grohl told a New York City crowd during his band’s set at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday (Sept. 29) that Foo Fighters have no additional shows planned. “We’re not making a big deal out of this, but this is it,” stated Grohl. “We don’t have any more shows after this. This is it. We don’t have any ones after this. This is the show where we play as many songs as we can in a short period of time because honestly, I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again, but this is the perfect place to do it right now tonight.” Now, Grohl elaborates further in a post on Foo Fighters’ Facebook page: Hey everyone… Dave here. Just wanted to write and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for another incredible year. (Our 18th, to be exact!) We truly never could have done any of this without you… Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn’t think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But… I can’t give up this band. And I never will. Because it’s not just a band to me. It’s my life. It’s my family. It’s my world. Yes… I was serious. I’m not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It’s one of the reasons we’re still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it’s good to just… put it back in the garage for a while… But, no gold watches or vacations just yet… I’ll be focusing all of my energy on finishing up my Sound City documentary film and album for worldwide release in the very near future. A year in the making, it could be the biggest, most important project I’ve ever worked on. Get ready… it’s coming. Me, Taylor, Nate, Pat, Chris, and Rami… I’m sure we’ll all see you out there… somewhere… Thank you, thank you, thank you… Dave [button href=”http://loudwire.com/foo-fighters-best-of-you-top-21st-century-hard-rock-songs/” title=”Foo Fighters: Top 21st Century Hard Rock Songs” align=”center”]

Josh Homme Single ‘Nobody to Love’ Rolls Over ‘End of Watch’ Credits

Lisa Maree Williams, Getty Images Those waiting for a new Queens of the Stone Age album will have to settle for the Josh Homme solo single titled ‘Nobody to Love’ for the time being. The track made a rather low-key debut late last week as it appeared over the closing credits of Jake Gyllenhaal-Michael Pena cop movie, ‘End of Watch.’ Antiquiet reported that Homme was breaking from the band’s current sessions back in July long enough to record the song for the film. The track was co-written with and also features producer Dave Sardy, who turns up with music throughout the soundtrack. Unfortunately, it does not feature on the commercial release of the  film’s soundtrack , but fans can still get it on the iTunes version . The track itself begins with the sound of piano keys, but eventually morphs into a more Homme-sounding cut with fuzzed-out bass and the singer’s dream-like delivery of the lyrics. The sorrowful track hits home with the chorus, “ There’s nobody to love / No pill’s gonna cure my ill .” Homme has been rather busy of late, also recording an unnamed  track with Queens for Amnesty International that will be part of a forthcoming release. In the process of revealing their involvement, Queens of the Stone Age also directed fans to read about the execution of Troy Davis and to join Amnesty International’s efforts dealing with human rights cases. Queens of the Stone Age scrapped their initial attempt at a record earlier in the year, but Homme and company returned to the studio in mid-August , posting a photo to let fans know that work had begun. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Melts Down at iHeartRadio Festival

Spencer Kaufman, Loudwire For those wondering if Green Day had mellowed out in their older years, we present Billie Joe Armstrong ‘s f-bomb filled tirade at the Las Vegas-based iHeartRadio Music Festival. The group played a seven-song set, but the final track ‘Basket Case’ was cut short when Armstrong noticed a clock that was telling them how much time was left in their performance. Apparently, the group had their set cut short so that pop star Usher could have more time, and it didn’t sit well with the singer. In mid-lyric, Armstrong belted to the audience, “I wanna play a new song. F— this s—. Gimme a f—in’ break, one minute left. One minute f—in’ left. You’re gonna give me one minute?! Look at that f—in’ sign right there, one minute! Let me tell you something … I’ve been around since f—in’ 1988 and you’re gonna give me one f—in’ minute?! You’ve gotta be kidding me.” The singer added, “I’m not Justin f—in’ Bieber you mother—–ers! You’ve gotta be f—in’ joking. It’s a f—in’ joke. I’ve got one minute, one minute left, oh now I’ve got nothing left.” He then proceeded to show his anger at the loss of time by smashing his guitar furiously against the stage and flipping off the officials keeping time, before telling the crowd, “God f—ing love you all.” Before the ending, audiences were treated to six and a half quick songs, as Green Day played such favorites as ‘American Idiot,’ ‘Holiday,’ ‘Longview,’ and ‘St. Jimmy’ as well as the new songs ‘It’s F— Time’ and ‘Oh, Love’ before the shortened finale of ‘Basket Case.’ Watch Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Lash Out at the iHeartRadio Festival [button href=”http://loudwire.com/green-day-jesus-of-suburbia-top-21st-century-hard-rock-songs/” title=”Next: Green Day: Top 21st Century Hard Rock Songs” align=”center”]
