Sevendust via Facebook. Sevendust fans, rejoice! The hard rock act has announced they will release their ninth studio album, ‘Black Out the Sun,’ on their own 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group) on March 26, 2013. The album’s debut single, ‘Decay,’ will reach active rock airwaves and retail outlets Jan. 22, 2013. ‘Black Out the Sun’ was self-produced by the band — Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums and vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass and vocals) and John Connolly (guitar and vocals) — at The Architekt Studios in Butler, N.J., with the assistance of mixer and engineer Mike Ferretti. As for the sound of the new album, it’s going to be heavy. In Loudwire’s recent interview with drummer Morgan Rose , he chatted about the upcoming disc by dishing, “I know I’m gonna scream like a banshee on the next record, I don’t know how many more we got left in us – from now on it’s gotta be treated like it’s the last one in my book. I know it’s gonna be real heavy.” Sevendust are also set to tour in support of ‘Black Out the Sun,’ which is the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Cold Day Memory,’ and have announced a headlining U.S. tour with Lacuna Coil set for February of 2013. November 28th, 2012 Metalkult Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com / Ethan Miller, Getty Images Lacuna Coil have enjoyed a solid year touring behind their ‘ Dark Adrenaline ‘ album and it looks as though 2013 will start off on a high note, as well. The band has just announced a February run with Sevendust that will keep them in the U.S. for the entire month. Lacuna Coil have been spreading the sounds of ‘Dark Adrenaline’ around the world this past year and is eager to continue their support back in America. The trek launches Feb. 2 in Winston-Salem, N.C. and continues through the Feb. 23 finale in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday (Nov. 30). To help fans stay in the loop with the Italian rockers, the band launched their own social network-fan community with the help of Mobile Backstage back in October right as they were starting their ‘Dark Legacy’ tour of Europe. The app has been available through the band’s website, Facebook page and for iPhone and Android. As for Sevendust, the band just announced a March 26 release for their ninth studio album, ‘ Black Out the Sun .’ The band will issue their lead single ‘Decay’ on Jan. 22, giving it enough time to catch hold at radio before the tour launches. November 15th, 2012 Metalkult Facebook: Sevendust Sevendust have titled their upcoming album ‘Black Out the Sun,’ according to a recent interview with guitarist Clint Lowery. The band’s upcoming ninth studio album is tentatively slated to drop in April 2013. ‘Black Out the Sun’ was recorded with engineer Mike Ferretti at Architekt Studios in New Jersey. In an interview with Source of the Sound With Wendy Campbell , guitarist Clint Lowery talked about the upcoming record by saying, “It’s a lot of what we do — it’s heavy and it’s got its melodic element in it.” He goes on to say “So if you’re a Sevendust fan, it’s more along the lines of the second and third records we did — it’s kind of like that. It’s got a couple of throwback vibes to it. ‘Animosity’ and ‘Home,’ if I can put those two records together, it would [sound similar to the new CD].” In the same interview, Lowery also stated that the band was in talks of a possible trek with Coal Chamber and Lacuna Coil in early 2013. The group teamed with Mobile Backstage to create the application, which will allow fans easier access to all kinds of Lacuna Coil information. As part of the new application, Lacuna Coil followers from around the world will be able to connect in real time and share photos, videos, audio, and get the latest updates from the band. They’ll also be able to invite the friends to take part and follow Lacuna Coil’s activities while the band is on the road.
