Marilyn Manson Recalls Time He Nearly Stole John Mayer’s $20,000 Rolex Watches

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire / Ethan Miller, Getty Images If your name happens to be Rob Zombie , we suggest that you don’t go around showing off anything expensive, because your current tour mate  Marilyn Manson may make off with it. This may seem like an odd warning to offer, but in a recent interview Marilyn Manson told a bizarre story about nearly stealing $20,000 Rolex watches from musician John Mayer. During an interview with PhillyBurbs.com , Manson was referred to as “our last rock star,” citing that bands no longer engage in the legendary debauchery of the past. The healthier lifestyle of modern musicians and lack of youthful rebellion was referred to as the “John Mayer-ization of rock,” which prompted Manson to tell his personal John Mayer story. “I met him [Mayer] right after he got in trouble for saying the “n” word,” begins Manson. “You don’t want to say that word, even if you’re black because you’ll get your ass beat. He was shifty, cagey and weird. Mayer invited me up to his room and he proceeded to show me, out of his safe, his collection of Rolex watches; they’re about $20,000 apiece. Why do you need a watch? I have an iPhone. I was contemplating going into the bathroom, putting whatever metal objects I had in my sock and just rolling him. When he would tell people, ‘Marilyn Manson stole my watches,’ who would believe him?” The answer to Manson’s question is: EVERYBODY! Comparing this to rumors that were widely believed during the course of Manson’s career, a few stolen watches are pretty minor. Such rumors include Manson having his two bottom ribs removed in order to perform auto-fellatio, that he was a hermaphrodite and that he was actually Josh Saviano from ‘The Wonder Years.’ Anyway, John Mayer … stop showing off your silly watches. GWAR’s Oderus Urungus Slams Rob Zombie, Claims Credit for Slipknot

Metal Blade GWAR front-thing Oderus Urungus is in the upper ranks when it comes to tearing humans apart both physically and orally. When he’s not ripping the limbs off celebrities and disemboweling politicians onstage, Oderus’ favorite pasttime is bashing those he feels are inferior to himself. In this most recent display, Oderus goes after both Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson , while taking the credit for Slipknot ‘s existence. The ‘Twins of Evil’ tour has been a source of controversy as of late, with co-headliners Zombie and Manson taking shots at each other onstage. Oderus Urungus addressed the situation during our recent interview with the intergalactic warmonger, but he went even more in-depth with BrowardPalmBeach.com . “A lot of bands have tried to do what GWAR does,” Oderus begins. ‘But no band has ever taken it as far as GWAR has. No one has ever out-sicked us. You think these Walmart behemoths of the music industry like Marilyn Manson or Rob Zombie are really scary people? That they have any kind of revolutionary agenda? All they care about is making money, and hanging out with their director buddies as they throw gala award ceremonies to circle jerk each other into a frenzy. GWAR is where GWAR should be: In the drawer marked filth.” The hideous space barbarian continues, “There would not be Slipknot without GWAR. I have a direct quote from Rob Zombie about GWAR when he was figuring out what he wanted to do with his career. They asked him, “Hey what do you think of them?” and he said, “The first time I saw GWAR, I thought ‘I want to be that, but I want to make money.’” That to me says a lot about Rob Zombie as an artist. It says that he isn’t one … Rob Zombie is a tired, G-Rated, mishmash of other people’s styles. When I see Slipknot I see lots of pentagrams and cow skulls. Really familiar imagery. What I do like about Slipknot is their music. Their drummer is f—ing amazing. But when I get to Marilyn Manson, he’s a little harder to peg. A little Alice Cooper, a little Bowie, a little Johnny Rotten.” GWAR are currently on tour with Devildriver, Cancer Bats + Legacy of Disorder. Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor Offers Insight Into How to Destroy Angels

Facebook: How To Destroy Angels Trent Reznor is a man who wears many hats. Along with fronting the legendary Nine Inch Nails , Reznor has lent his talents to composing film scores, original music for video games, and has produced albums for Marilyn Manson and Jane’s Addiction . Reznor latest project is an upcoming EP from his group How to Destroy Angels. For those of you who are unfamiliar with How to Destroy Angels, the group consists of Reznor, fellow Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (who composed the film soundtrack for ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ with Reznor), Nine Inch Nails art director Rob Sheridan and vocalist Mariqueen Maandig, who also happens to be Trent Reznor’s beautiful wife. The band released a self-titled EP in 2010, with their second one, ‘An Omen EP’ to see a release in November. “We’ve been working on this kind of in the shadows throughout ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ soundtracks since the core people are all kind of in the same area,” says Reznor in an interview with BBC1 Radio. “We’ve just been chipping away at this thing, and it’s been a nice pressure release valve really to have something to dump this energy into that doesn’t fit the other containers. It’s been fun. He continues, “We’ve just been playing around with the idea of the way that people consume music and listen to it and how big the chunks are. I think coming off of releasing ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ soundtrack that clocked in at 2 hours, we thought let’s do something that’s more manageable, digestible little bits here.” Reznor also speaks about an upcoming 2013 full-length for How to Destroy Angels. “Part of what’s on the EP is taken from a full-length record that’s 98% finished. That’s scheduled for a release at the beginning of next year.” Yesterday, How To Destroy Angels released ‘Keep It Together’ as the first single from ‘The Omen EP.’ Click below to listen: [button href=”http://loudwire.com/trent-reznor-how-to-destroy-angels-new-single-keep-it-together/” title=”Listen to How To Destroy Angels, ‘Keep it Together'” align=”center”]

Rob Zombie Unveils Teaser Trailer for ‘The Lords of Salem’ Movie

RobZombie.com Musician and director Rob Zombie recently premiered his latest movie ‘The Lords of Salem’ at the Toronto Film Festival. It generated quite a buzz and a bidding war for the right to distribute the horror flick. Anchor Bay paid a cool $2 million to distribute ‘The Lords of Salem,’ and now Zombie has unveiled a teaser trailer for the movie, which is set for a 2013 release. Zombie recently spoke to Loudwire Radio about ‘The Lords of Salem,’ which was spawned several years ago when he was in Massachusetts for a wedding. He was in the hotel lobby and bought a book about the Salem Witch Trials to read and kill some time. “It just got me thinking about it and I just came up with this idea for the Salem, a very rough idea,” Zombie recalls. “And I kind of jotted down a few notes and forgot all about it. And then, about seven years later, the opportunity came up to make a film but, the only stipulation was — I mean, the budget was the first stipulation but, they just wanted something with a supernatural edge and I remembered this idea and that’s how I sort of dug it out of mothballs and brought it out and started working on it.” The plot of the movie revolves around some radio DJs (one who is played by Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon Zombie) that play a heavy metal song on the air that arrived in a mysterious box. They end up unleashing a coven of 17th century witches. Zombie’s bandmate John 5 composed the music for the movie. Zombie is currently in the midst of the Twins of Evil tour with Marilyn Manson. The U.S. leg of the tour wraps up, appropriately enough, on Halloween. As far as the next Rob Zombie studio album, he also told Loudwire Radio it is finished and should be released sometime after Christmas. Watch the Teaser Trailer for ‘The Lords of Salem’

Marilyn Manson Discusses ‘Born Villain’ Special Edition + Touring With Rob Zombie

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Marilyn Manson is ready to let fans dig a little deeper into his “villainous” mind. The singer has revealed that there will be a special edition of the ‘ Born Villain ‘ album coming this fall. While the vocalist didn’t reveal an exact release date, he did tell Billboard it would be “shortly before the holiday” and that it would come with two or possibly three additional tracks and special packaging. Manson added, “They’re not just acoustic versions or demos or stuff like that. They’re really good songs that were going to go on the album, but I didn’t want the album to be too long. I knew there would be the opportunity to use them for something.” The singer says he expects the deluxe edition packaging to come with additional artwork that may come in book form. Meanwhile, Manson has returned to the road for the fall months, sharing stages with Rob Zombie on the ‘ Twins of Evil ‘ co-headlining tour. Manson says, “It’s just an obvious tour. I’m surprised we haven’t done it before, but we hadn’t. I think it’s gonna be great.” He adds, “[I think it’s] a good match because he does the comic book/slasher element of horror or whatever you might call our cinematic sort of view of music, and I handle the more psychological and political. He might be more ‘Halloween,’ the movie; I’m more of ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ or ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ – two different outlooks on things.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/marilyn-manson-the-fight-song-top-21st-century-hard-rock-songs/” title=”Next: Marilyn Manson: Top 21st Century Hard Rock Songs” align=”center”]

What If Everyone Had Scott Ian’s Beard?

Megaforce For a long time, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has sported one of metal’s most celebrated beards. Once predominantly black, these days Ian has taken a more natural approach to the beard, allowing some gray into the mix. Ian’s beard deserves a prominent spot in some sort of Rock and Roll Facial Hair Hall of Fame next to James Hetfield’s goat-like chin-plant and Kerry King’s whimsical bristles. Few possess the pure manliness to grow such a beard. The dedication involved is staggering in itself, no doubt taking many months or even years to cultivate. But what if everyone was able to grow a beard like Scott Ian? Obviously we would all grow one, but what would it look like on some of the world’s most recognizable faces? A beard of this stature deserves the upmost reverence, so we’ve decided to attach Ian’s breathtaking chin-locks to various lucky recipients. So, what if everyone had Scott Ian’s beard? They’d look something like this: Dave Mustaine Lars Ulrich Marilyn Manson Smashing Pumpkins Axl Rose Jay Leno Barack Obama
