Three Days Grace Take ‘Chalk Outline’ Video to the Streets

Vevo.com After watching Three Days Grace ‘s new video for ‘ Chalk Outline ,’ it might be worth it to steer clear of the general vicinity of singer Adam Gontier. The clip for the band’s latest chart-topping single focuses primarily on the singer walking the streets of Brooklyn, similar to the Verve’s Richard Ashcroft in the ‘ Bittersweet Symphony ‘ video years ago. While nothing bad happens to Gontier as he belts out the song through the streets, there are a few altercations and accidents that occur around him. The Shane Drake-directed clip is also fun for fans of the band, as the group’s other members make cameos in the background of scenes. ‘Chalk Outline’ is the No. 1 rock hit from the band’s newly released, ‘ Transit of Venus ‘ album. Drummer Neil Sanderson previously stated of the disc , “We went for a tighter, more articulated sound on this record. The music we were writing was a little more intricate than in the past, and we’ve been experimenting with new instruments … We wanted to present these new ideas concisely without going over-the-top in ambiance and overall production.” Look for Three Days Grace supporting the album this fall with club dates beginning Oct. 8 in Dallas. Baroness’ John Baizley: ‘I’ve Been Broken Down to the Basic Physical Functions of a 2 Year Old’

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Since Baroness ‘ catastrophic Aug. 15 bus accident in England, the members of the band now find themselves in the rehabilitation process after living through a 30-foot drop while their bus was traveling at a speed of around 50mph. Thankfully, it seems that the incident will only act as a pause for Baroness instead of an ending, as explained to us by frontman John Baizley , who recently offered Loudwire an exclusive interview about the crash, his injuries and his recovery. In a conversation that bordered an hour in length, Baizley expressed his remarkable will to pass through the incredibly painful healing process, and hopes to be back touring with Baroness as soon as humanly possible. We’ll soon be bringing you the entirety of our fascinating dialogue with Baizley, who spoke in great detail about the rehabilitation process, learning how to play guitar again with a severely damaged arm, remaining a loving and attentive father + much more. In a small portion of our interview with Baizley, the musician and artist described his struggles with pain since the bus wreck and his intensive surgery to repair a severely broken arm and leg. “I’ve been living with it now for close to seven weeks,” says Baizley. “It’s a physical pain, a corporeal pain that won’t go away. I’m still not quite so far from the injury that I’m without pain. There’s a 16, 17-inch scar going down my arm that hasn’t healed yet. There’s a small army of metal pieces inside which are not only keeping me together, but are also beginning to react with the organic parts of my body. At the same time, it’s important for me, given he nature of my injuries, that I’m as mobile as I possibly can be. So I’m trying to move what doesn’t want to be moved. All the while, this stuff is trying to heal up, so there’s that pain.” He continues, “Along with that comes some very extensive nerve damage, which extends from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my fingertips. I essentially had all of the musculature and all of the nervous system removed from my arm for eight hours during the surgery. Once it was replaced, you’re dealing with scar tissue and you’re dealing with some parts which aren’t going to work again. The top half of my arm has no physical feeling to it anymore, and won’t. When I first came out of surgery, there was this very, very extreme and incredibly painful pins and needles feeling in my hand, which scared me at first because I was saying to myself, ‘Oh God, what if this lasts forever? What if everything I touch hurts?’” “I’ve been broken down to the basic physical functions of a 2 year old, and since the accident I’ve been trying to reclaim myself from all directions, and it doesn’t happen without pain. It’s still so fresh for me that I’m still waiting for the first moment of my life where just sitting here doesn’t hurt.” Stay tuned for our the rest of our extremely in-depth interview with Baroness’ John Baizley, where the accomplished artist goes into further detail about his injuries, the crash itself, how the experience affected his views on death + much, much more. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it. Andrew W.K. to Send Million-Volt Keyboard Solo Through Magician David Blaine’s Body

Scott Gries / Bryan Bedder, Getty Images Magician David Blaine is known for some pretty outrageous stunts, and his latest will include rocker Andrew W.K. performing a keyboard solo that will send one million volts through his body. W.K. definitely loves to rock and nothing says that more than getting to play a high voltage instrument, but the musician admits he’s not sure how this will pan out. “A 1,000,000 volt keyboard?,” said a wowed W.K. in a statement. “This is absolutely a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience and probably the most dangerous musical instrument ever created! I’m absolutely electrified and terrified by the opportunity to play a keyboard solo with so much energy and to use this incredibly powerful device to send a musical surge through David’s brain! I just hope he can withstand my high-powered party piano playing.” The event, dubbed ‘Electrified,’ will take place at New York’s Pier 54 today through Oct. 8 and is sponsored by Blaine’s partnership with Intel’s Ultrabook. Blaine will reportedly be attached to seven Tesla coils over a 72-hour period and Intel Ultrabook users can play their part by using their Intel Ultrabooks to control the strength of the electrical charge (typing ‘DB’ provides a stronger charge). In a video interview with Google Plus (seen below), Blaine says, “There’s this toy from Sharper Image. It was like a plasma ball, where you touch the side of it and all the static electricity comes off to your fingertips from the center. I always loved that, and I wanted to create that where I would be in the center.” Andrew W.K.’s portion of the event will reportedly find the musician performing on a keyboard that’s powered by the seven Tesla coils that surround Blaine. The W.K. keyboard solo portion will be live streamed Oct. 7 at 7:30PM at Ultrabook’s YouTube channel .
