Hollywood Undead’s third release, ‘ Notes From the Underground ,’ landed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week, while Black Veil Brides enjoyed their first-ever Top 10 entry with ’ Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones ,’ which arrived at No. 7. Hollywood Undead moved 53,000 copies in their debut week, finishing behind the 73,000 sold by this week’s chart champ, contemporary Christian artist Chris Tomlin. However, ‘Notes From the Underground’ gives the band their highest debut yet in their career, as their last album, ‘American Tragedy,’ arrived at No. 4 back in 2011. As for Black Veil Brides, ‘Wretched and Divine’ sold 42,000 copies in its opening week. The group also shot to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Top Album Chart and the iTunes Rock Chart. To show how the band’s fan base has grown, ‘Wretched and Divine’ nearly doubled in first week sales what the group did on their 2011 release, ‘Set the World on Fire.’ Black Veil Brides are currently on the ‘Church of the Wild Ones World Tour,’ with dates booked through a March 8 finale in San Francisco. The raucous frontman is brewing up a rock ‘n’ roll takeover of his own with an upcoming live DVD/CD set aptly titled ‘Abachalypse Now.’ The special release is jam-packed with never before seen footage that’s all been remixed and remastered for optimal quality. The footage includes Bach’s performances from 2012’s GrasPop Festival in Belgium, his full set from Hellfest in France and his show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles that originally aired on AXS TV. While the exact details are still being kept under wraps including the track listing and table of contents, Bach weighed in on the special release, saying: “I am so excited for all of you to witness and experience ‘ABachalypse Now.’ We have included three recent concerts and the footage is totally kickass! It’s remixed and remastered for full audio and video quality. The performances and energy of the crowds are killer throughout the DVD and you really feel like you are at the shows. Prepare yourselves for the coming ABachalypse – now!” ‘Abachalypse Now’ is due out on Frontiers Records in the Spring of 2013. The former Skid Row frontman released his last solo disc ‘Kicking & Screaming’ back in September of 2011. The disc was produced by Bob Marlette and made the top 75 of the Billboard Top 200 Chart. November 27th, 2012 Metalkult Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Soundgarden are now back in full force after announcing their reunion in 2010, and to help welcome them back in style, the band performed on the Monday night (Nov. 26) episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ In front of a standing-room-only crowd, Soundgarden took the outdoor stage to play ‘By Crooked Steps’ and ‘Been Away Too Long’ before surprising the live audience with three extra tracks off the air. The legendary grunge band released their first all-new album in 16 years, ‘King Animal,’ on Nov. 13, selling 83,000 copies in its first week and debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album has received mostly positive reviews from critics and fans, including the ‘Kimmel’ audience, which gave Soundgarden a red-hot reception as they jammed on two of their newest tracks. The band’s entire discography is now available, including every live album, contributions to soundtracks, box sets and a series of official AC/DC ringtones. The band’s holdout hadn’t seemingly affected their album sales in an extreme matter, as their 1980 ‘Back in Black’ album regularly sells more copies than many albums on the Billboard Top 200 at any time, while their 2008 album, ‘Black Ice,’ sold 784,000 copies in its first week. “From their 1976 debut ‘High Voltage,’” begins a press release issued by Apple, “to seminal classic ‘Back In Black’ and 2008 smash hit ‘Black Ice,’ every one of AC/DC’s 16 studio albums, along with four live albums and three compilation albums, are available for the first time ever on the iTunes Store. October 29th, 2012 Metalkult Century Media Records After signing with a new record label, Century Media, Buckcherry have announced they will be releasing a new album. ‘Confessions’ is due in early 2013 via Century Media in the United States and Eleven Seven Music in the rest of the world. ‘Confessions’ is based on the seven deadly sins, and is part of a larger vision that includes a film written by frontman Josh Todd, who based the album’s lyrics on his childhood and transformation into adulthood. “The time has come to finally announce the release of our sixth LP, ‘Confessions,’” says Todd. “This is our coolest album yet and I think a lot of people will relate. If you love BC you are going to get a chance to be part of a great story – join the revolution and let’s rock!” “This is, by far, our most ambitious record,” says guitarist Keith Nelson. “We are very proud of the work we’ve done and we are looking forward to presenting it to our fans.” Buckcherry’s last album, 2010′s ‘All Night Long’ debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the singles ‘Dead,’ ‘It’s a Party’ and the title track.
