Swedish metal band Sister Sin recently revealed their new high octane video for ‘Hearts of Cold,’ the second single from their October 2012 release ‘Now and Forever.’ Directed by Eric Richter, the video plays out a story similar to the true crime that inspired the song, revolving around the gruesome tale of Juha Veikko Valjakkala and Marita Routalammi. Valjakkala and Routalammi are the Finnish couple who allegedly entered Sweden and killed a family of three after a fight over a bike. The two ruthless outlaws would go on to reportedly inspire the 1994 film ‘Natural Born Killers.’ In the exclusive clip seen below, frontwoman Liv Jagrell talks about the meaning behind the video, calling the crime one that truly impacted the band’s home country of Sweden. “For us in Sweden, we don’t have these kind of things so often,” recalls Jagrell. “Sweden was very frozen by this.” Jagrell went on to say that after being incarcerated, Valjakkala’s evil continued, explaining, “This guy, they put him in prison and I think he escaped like five times.” The video puts a new spin on the song and Jagrell gets to put her acting skills to the test throughout the video, playing the female role in the infamous duo, check it out above. January 21st, 2013 Metalkult Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Clutch are just getting ready to kick off their ‘Earth Rocker’ World Tour this Tuesday (Jan. 22) in London, and there’s now a North American tour leg for fans to get excited about as well. The veteran rockers have revealed that their latest batch of shows will feature primary support act, Orange Goblin, as well as upstart rockers Kyng and Lionize. The tour gets underway March 8 at Bogart’s in Cincinnati and currently runs through an April 20 finale in Baltimore. Drummer Jean-Paul Gaster said of the North American run, “We have a great bill lined up for the U.S. tour that kicks off in March. Get there early to check out Kyng, Lionize and the mighty Orange Goblin.” ‘Earth Rocker’ is not only the name of Clutch’s tour, it’s also the title of their forthcoming album. The band’s Weathermaker Music label has confirmed a worldwide March 19th release for the disc, with pre-orders and special bundle packages currently being offered here . The lead single for the album is the title track. It’s currently streaming through Brooklyn Vegan and can be heard below. In addition to their upcoming tour, the band will drop in on the South By Southwest festival in Austin. An exact date, location and set time have yet to be revealed, but the information will be announced shortly. Godsmack’s Sully Erna Announces Dates for 2013 Solo East Coast Tour

The vocalist has just announced six new East Coast solo shows where he’ll continue to promote his ‘Avalon’ solo album. The trek launches March 22 at Atlantic City’s House of Blues and the performances are expected to not only include material from Erna’s solo album, but also tracks from throughout his career. The singer, who was inspired by ’90s world fusion band Dead Can Dance, recruited the band’s percussionist, Niall Gregory, to join his solo outfit. The group also features Erna’s friend and past Godsmack guest vocalist Lisa Guyer. Erna has shown his fondness for the solo effort, continuing to promote it while balancing his Godsmack schedule and going so far as to issue a limited edition five-DVD box set that includes a full live performance of the album. In addition to the wealth of extras associated with the box set, there were also five “golden tickets” that were spread amongst the limited edition releases. Each of the tickets provided the owner to join Erna on a luxury trip to either Napa, Boston, New York, Las Vegas or Catalina Island (aka Avalon). The two bands will be supported directly by Lacuna Coil, with Candlelight Red and Stolen Babies splitting opening duties. Sevendust will be out in support of their upcoming album ‘Black Out the Sun,’ which features the new single ‘Decay.’ The band has added dates to a winter trek with Lacuna Coil that kicks off Feb. 2 in Winston Salem, N.C., and runs through March 27 in El Cajon, Calif. January 4th, 2013 Metalkult Kevin Winter, Getty Images In 2009, Virginia Tech college student Morgan Harrington was murdered shortly after disappearing from a Metallica concert in Charlottesville. Three-plus years later, the band is still involved with the search for the 20-year-old student’s killer and her parents are thankful for the continued support. Noisecreep reports that the band’s latest venture, allowing the title of ‘Enter Sandman’ to be used on a line of Virginia Tech t-shirts , has resulted in another $40,000 being raised this past fall for the Morgan Harrington medical scholarship fund. That comes after the band chipped in $50,000 of their own money when the fund was initially launched and they also donated $50,000 to the reward in seeking information that would lead to the capture of Harrington’s killer. Plus, just last year, the band filmed yet another PSA seeking information in the case. Morgan’s mother, Gil Harrington, said of the band’s involvement, “It has been very humbling from the very beginning. Two days after Morgan was abducted, they could have distanced themselves from an ugly occurrence. But James Hetfield called this house to speak to Dan [Harrington], as a father, and asked, ‘What can we do?’ Three years out, and they are still doing things.” Harrington says Hetfield spoke to the FBI and also generated the first “missing person” poster that went up on their website in hopes of locating her daughter. “It’s a visceral response as fathers. They were not liability driven or self-protecting,” she adds of their involvement. At present, between the Harrington family and Metallica, there is $150,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Morgan’s murderer. Among the shows are rescheduled New York and Boston gigs, which had to be postponed due to Superstorm Sandy. ‘ Koi No Yokan ,’ the band’s seventh studio album, was released in November to much critical acclaim. In fact, it was named the No. 1 album of the year by Loudwire in our list of the 10 Best Rock Albums of 2012 . The single ‘Leathers’ from the album garnered the No. 2 slot on our list of the 10 Best Rock Songs of 2012 . And now the two acts will continue the momentum with a 2013 co-headlining North American trek dubbed the ‘Marathon Metalcore Tour.’ The Devil Wears Prada will trek around the States and Canada in support of their latest album, 2011′s ‘Dead Throne,’ while As I Lay Dying will be touring behind their sixth studio album, 2012′s ‘Awakened.’ The two bands are no strangers, especially since As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was the guest vocalist on the Devil Wears Prada track ‘Constance’ off of ‘Dead Throne.’ Perhaps we will see Lambesis grace the stage with TDWP vocalist Mike Hranica to perform the tune live?
