EMI Legendary Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris recently released his first solo album, ‘British Lion,’ and we’re teaming up with Ultimate Classic rock to offer a ‘British Lion’ prize pack to one lucky reader. The prize includes a copy of the new album and a poster of the bass master himself. Harris recently described the significance of the ‘British Lion’ title, along with how it plays into the sound of the record. “I’ve always been proud to be British,” explains Harris, “I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t be. It’s a massive part of being me. It’s not like I’m flag-waving or trying to preach, this is not a political statement at all. It’s like supporting your football team, where you come from. I just think it lends itself to some really strong imagery too, and to me it fits in with the sound.” Enter our ‘British Lion’ prize pack contest by filling out the form below. Facebook: How To Destroy Angels Trent Reznor is a man who wears many hats. Along with fronting the legendary Nine Inch Nails , Reznor has lent his talents to composing film scores, original music for video games, and has produced albums for Marilyn Manson and Jane’s Addiction . Reznor latest project is an upcoming EP from his group How to Destroy Angels. For those of you who are unfamiliar with How to Destroy Angels, the group consists of Reznor, fellow Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (who composed the film soundtrack for ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ with Reznor), Nine Inch Nails art director Rob Sheridan and vocalist Mariqueen Maandig, who also happens to be Trent Reznor’s beautiful wife. The band released a self-titled EP in 2010, with their second one, ‘An Omen EP’ to see a release in November. “We’ve been working on this kind of in the shadows throughout ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ soundtracks since the core people are all kind of in the same area,” says Reznor in an interview with BBC1 Radio. “We’ve just been chipping away at this thing, and it’s been a nice pressure release valve really to have something to dump this energy into that doesn’t fit the other containers. It’s been fun. He continues, “We’ve just been playing around with the idea of the way that people consume music and listen to it and how big the chunks are. I think coming off of releasing ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ soundtrack that clocked in at 2 hours, we thought let’s do something that’s more manageable, digestible little bits here.” Reznor also speaks about an upcoming 2013 full-length for How to Destroy Angels. “Part of what’s on the EP is taken from a full-length record that’s 98% finished. That’s scheduled for a release at the beginning of next year.” Yesterday, How To Destroy Angels released ‘Keep It Together’ as the first single from ‘The Omen EP.’ Click below to listen: [button href=”http://loudwire.com/trent-reznor-how-to-destroy-angels-new-single-keep-it-together/” title=”Listen to How To Destroy Angels, ‘Keep it Together'” align=”center”]

Frazer Harrison, Getty Images A few days after he took to Twitter to laugh off rumors of his impending nuptials, Ozzy Osbourne ‘s son Jack made them come true by walking down the aisle with his new bride, actress and model Lisa Stelly. The UK tabloid Hello! was on hand to witness the ceremony, which took place in Hawaii on Sunday (Oct. 7) — just two days before Jack’s mom Sharon celebrates her 60th birthday (Oct. 9), and a little more than 30 years after she and Jack’s dad Ozzy tied the knot in Maui. According to Hello!, the guest list was appropriately exclusive with fewer than 50 attendees on hand — but it was, of course, an Osbourne family event, with Jack’s sister Kelly serving as one of the bridesmaids and both of the famous elder Osbournes on hand to celebrate his wedded bliss. The wedding caps a tumultuous year for Jack, who celebrated the birth of his and Stelly’s first child in April 24, then dealt with his multiple sclerosis diagnosis just a few weeks later. “Even when I was at the hospital, we were discussing the plans,” Stelly was quoted as saying in an earlier report. “It’s going to be great. After we had the baby we decided we didn’t want to waste any more time.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/ozzy-osbourne-celebrate-sharon-60th-birthday-the-talk/” title=”Next: Ozzy to Celebrate Sharon’s 60th Birthday on ‘The Talk'” align=”center”]

Spencer Kaufman, Loudwire In one of the more surprising moments of the year, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently entered rehab for substance abuse problems, and now Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt has just addressed the issue in greater detail. After slinging curses at the iHeart Radio festival organizers, Armstrong smashed his guitar and left the stage . At the time, the singular reason for his outburst seemed to be frustration with having Green Day’s set time suddenly cut down by 20 minutes. The next day, though, it was revealed that there was more to Armstrong’s breakdown, as the band released a statement that the frontman would be entering rehab . In an interview with BBC Radio 1 [via NME ], Mike Dirnt revealed that the decision to send Armstrong to rehab wasn’t a difficult one, “We had to put the life of our friend in front of everything,” says Dirnt. There were also “signs of things hitting the fan” adding, “we hadn’t slept in forever.” Dirnt continues, “Hindsight is 20/20… it was a tremendous undertaking… It catches up with you a little bit. We definitely jumped off a moving train.” As for the future of Green Day’s musical career, Durst says, “We’re still getting ready for the next phase.” Stay tuned for more news on Billie Joe Armstrong’s recovery. In the meantime. the band recently released the album ‘¡Uno!,’ with the rest of the trilogy coming in the forms of ’¡Dos!’ next month and ‘¡Tre!’ in January. In addition, Armstrong’s previously taped appearances as a mentor on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ will begin airing tonight (Oct. 8) on NBC.
