Evans Blue, ‘Beyond the Stars’ Lyric Video – Exclusive Premiere

New Ocean Media Evans Blue are enjoying a successful run with their ‘ Graveyard of Empires ‘ album, and are digging deeper into the disc with the latest single ‘Beyond the Stars.’ The song just hit the airwaves, and the band is teaming with Loudwire to bring you the exclusive preview of the lyric video for the track. The lyric video itself is set against the backdrop of the sun emerging from behind a planet while the lyrics to the track grace the screen. The song starts with some in-your-face guitar playing courtesy of Vlad Tanaskovic and Parker Lauzon, while singer Dan Chandler delivers the angst-ridden lyrics, “ Help me surrender my control / searching for the death of my own soul / I bleed but far beneath / my cover keeps the red from leaking .” The weighty lyrical opening leads up to the powerful chorus: “ Keep your silence or reach for life beyond the stars / save your mercy for someone who needs it more / I’m the guilty / All the feelings come crashing down on me / I’m taking you with me. ” The song follows ‘ This Time It’s Different ‘ and ‘ Halo ‘ as singles off the album. The group just completed the second leg of their ‘Graveyard of Empires’ 2012 tour, venturing up and down the East Coast, with a 2013 West Coast trek currently being mapped out. ‘Beyond the Stars’ is currently available on iTunes , as is the ‘Graveyard of Empires’ album . Soundgarden Announce 2013 North American Tour, Unveil ‘Been Away Too Long’ Video

Yesterday, Loudwire delivered an exclusive sneak peek at the new video from Soundgarden for their single ‘Been Away Too Long,’ and today the full video has made its formal premiere (watch above). While the lyrics for ‘Been Away Too Long’ sing out a sentiment that calls to mind Soundgarden’s extended absence, the video travels down a different path. It kicks off with a woman shedding a strait jacket and walking through an abandoned old building. As the building seems to come to life around her the video culminates when she meets the piercing glares of two german shepherds who have her in their sights. Check it out above in its entirety to see what happens next and draw your own conclusions. Korn Guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and Wife Welcome Baby Boy

Ethan Miller, Getty Images For fans of Korn , we’ve got some big news. And for fans of Baby Korn, we’ve got even bigger news! It’s time to light up a cigar for Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer and his wife Evis, who just added a new member to their family. Son D’Angelo DraXon Shaffer was welcomed into the world Wednesday, Nov. 7. Shaffer’s wife Evis delivered the news in a Facebook posting. She explained, “My husband James and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our son D’Angelo DraXon Shaffer, born simply perfect this beautiful day of Nov. 7, 2012 8:44AM at 8 pounds, 3 ounces. We are so excited to share this joyful news of our little angel’s arrival.” The guitarist also has a daughter from a previous relationship. The new arrival should give Shaffer a brief respite from the music, but perhaps only temporarily as he’s been promoting his Fear and the Nervous System project and taking care of his Korn duties. Korn recently issued the concert disc ‘The Path of Totality Tour — Live at the Hollywood Palladium,’ and the guitarist recently revealed that creative sessions for their next album were currently under way. One Fan Dies and Several Injured at Linkin Park’s South Africa Show After Scaffolding Collapse

Photo: James Minchin Tragedy struck at the stadium where Linkin Park performed in Cape Town, South Africa, tonight (Nov. 7). One female fan died and about 20 others were injured when an advertising structure collapsed prior to the concert due to high winds. Apparently, the wind gusts caused a temporary scaffolding structure to collapse onto fans who were on their way into the concert, but the show went on as scheduled. Linkin Park learned of the tragedy shortly after the concert ended. The band was performing in South Africa as part of their International Linkin Park Underground Summit in which they interact with fans. Following the show, Linkin Park posted a message on their official website expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased fan and their concern for those injured: Following our performance tonight at Cape Town Stadium, we were advised that several people were injured as a result of the collapse of an advertising tower erected by Lucozade in the parking area outside the venue. We wish to express our deep sadness and concern for those injured and our heartfelt condolences to the family of the fan who died as a result of her injuries. Though we have had no relationship with the sponsor or the entity responsible for erecting the structure, we take the safety of our fans very seriously and our thoughts are with all of those who were affected by this tragedy. Prior to the news of the concertgoer’s death, Cape Town authorities released the following statement: “Twenty concert attendees were injured at the Cape Town Stadium this evening when a temporary scaffolding structure in the stadium precinct collapsed due to high winds. The injured were treated on scene and have been taken to nearby hospitals for further medical attention.” Raw video footage of the aftermath of the scaffolding collapse has been released below. The tragedy follows similar deadly incidents involving Radiohead and the country band Sugarland. Raw Footage of Scaffolding Collapse at Linkin Park Show
