After a brief taste of the No. 1 position in late November, Shinedown fell back to No. 2 for several weeks, but is now spending its second straight week on top. Soundgarden , Shinedown’s biggest obstacle during the early-December stretch, slips back another notch this week from No. 2 to No. 33. Trading places with Chris Cornell and company is the rapidly rising Avenged Sevenfold  single ‘Carry On,’ which is commanding the No. 2 position and could make a run at No. 1 next week. Rounding out the top five are All That Remains ‘ ‘Stand Up’ and Volbeat ‘s ‘Heaven Nor Hell,’ swapping places this week. All That Remains inch another step closer to the top of the charts at No. 4, while Volbeat slide back to the No. 5 spot. Elsewhere on the countdown, there were significant jumps this week for Adelitas Way ‘s ‘Alive’ and Papa Roach ‘s ‘Where Did the Angels Go.’ Adelitas Way are knocking on the door to the Top 10, patiently awaiting at No. 11 with their latest single. Meanwhile, Jacoby Shaddix ‘s crew have seen ‘Where Did the Angels Go’ take flight up another two spots to No. 15 this week. HIM Unleash New Track ‘Strange World’

The End Records It has been a long wait for HIM  fans, but the band has released the new track ‘Strange World’ off of their compilation album ‘XX – Two Decades of Love Metal.’ ‘Strange World’ is the Finnish love metallers’ first dose of new material since 2010, and the track is laced with signature HIM melodies and tones. The song itself was originally released by Kevin Grivois, known by the artist name Ké, in the 90s. It’s said to be one of the personal favorites of HIM frontman Ville Valo. HIM are have released their share of cover tracks, such as their notable renditions of Chris Isaac’s ‘Wicked Game,’ Blue Oyster Cult’s ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ and the Ramones’ ‘Poison Heart.’ ‘Strange World’ starts off with Linde Lindstrom’s clattering and screaming guitar riffs that lead into Valo’s deep vocals, as he delivers the first verse backed by rattling bass lines provided by Mige Paananen. Valo offers softer vocals for the chorus as he sings,  “Strange world / People talk and tell only lies / Strange world / People kill an eye for an eye / Strange world / Dream one day we’ll see the light / Strange world / Believe and everything will be alright.” Drummer Mika ‘Gas Lipstick’ Karppinen provides a steady stream of snare and sizzling cymbals behind the skins that add to the strength of the track. The song ends on a strong note as Valo sings,  “Burn these thoughtless tears out of my eyes / Still I wonder, wonder why.” Even though the lyrical content doesn’t necessarily cover love or death, as HIM songs typically do, the band’s rendition of ‘Strange World’ retains the balance of pain and beauty that HIM have delivered over their storied career. Suicide Silence’s Mitch Lucker Saluted with Candlelight Vigil

Century Media Hours after the death of Suicide Silence singer Mitch Lucker, his friends, family and fans began to organize tributes to the vocalist to honor his memory. In Huntington Beach, Calif., where Lucker perished on his motorcycle, fans and some of his family members gathered for a candlelight vigil at the light pole that the singer hit. Among those in attendance were Lucker’s wife Jolie and his five-year-old daughter Kendalee. Meanwhile, back in Riverside, Calif., where Lucker grew up, family members gathered to celebrate his life. According to reports, Lucker was riding his 2013 Harley-Davidson on Main Street Wednesday night when he hit a light pole near the intersection of 13th street. After impact, the motorcycle continued to slide south and struck a pickup truck coming the opposite direction. The frontman was seriously injured and treated by paramedics before passing away at 6:00AM the following morning. According to Blabbermouth , the singer’s wife, Jolie Carmadella, said that the singer had made the decision to drink and ride. She explained that she didn’t know why he left home Wednesday night and didn’t know where he was going, but she did reveal she found some empty containers at home. When asked what message she had after Lucker’s death, she replied, “Just make the right choice. Don’t hurt your family. Don’t drink and drive.” Sharing his fondness for motorcycles, Lucker told Alternative Press in a recent interview, “The danger in it [attracts me]. Being a frontman in a band, you get addicted to adrenaline rushes. When you’re onstage, there’s not more of a rush. When I get home from touring, I need to find something to match that so I don’t get my adrenaline withdrawals. Being exposed to every element of danger while your sitting on a motor — that, to me, is freedom.” Footage of the Mitch Lucker tributes can be seen in the video clips below. Loudwire is proud to bring you the vignette with the band members reflecting on the ‘Duck and Run’ video that shows their life on the road perhaps better than any clip they’ve released. Singer Brad Arnold , guitarist Chris Henderson, and bassist Todd Harrell gathered to offer the insights on the clip, which Harrell says was probably one of his favorites videos they ever shot. Henderson and Arnold joke around as well about getting used to having a camera crew around at all times and how normal it became after a while. The vignette can be seen below. ‘Duck and Run,’ which just continued the breakout success of the band’s debut disc ‘The Better Life,’ is one of many favorites on the ‘Greatest Hits’ disc. 3 Doors Down’s Brad Arnold Shares Inspiration Behind New Song ‘One Light’

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com 3 Doors Down are gearing up to release their ‘The Greatest Hits’ collection on Nov. 19. The ‘Best Of’ compilation features nine of their number one hits throughout their massively successful career. In addition to the hits, the band crafted three new bonus tracks for fans to feast on, including ‘One Light,’ one of their most inspirational songs to date. The track made its debut at the Republican National Convention when the band performed it live. With lyrics like: “ So come with me / Let’s take this world and make a change / And we’ll give this more than we can take away ,” the tune seems to lends itself perfectly to the upcoming election, but frontman Brad Arnold said the song is much bigger than that. First and foremost Arnold said that the song, at its core, is not politically motivated. He explained, “I’ve never been political at all and I never will be, but the song really does apply, and it applies to either side.” The message the song delivers is a lot larger than any one political party though. “It’s a message to people, essentially young people, a call to come with me, and take our world and make a change,” Arnold said. “It does relate to the election, but it’s so much more than that because the song is really about giving back to the world more than you take from it.” Arnold and 3 Doors Down hope the song will help spread their inspirational message. “If everybody had that attitude, we’d live in a perfect world,” states Arnold. “I really hope that that song does inspire somebody to take their school and make a change for the better, to just find a problem and be that one light to shine for other people.” Tune in next week for our full interview with 3 Doors Down frontman Brad Arnold. Marilyn Manson’s Rendition of ‘This Is Halloween’ Powers Freaky Light Show

YouTube: EdwardsLandingLights Halloween officially holds second place in the ongoing competition of holidays where people put stuff on their lawn. Although Christmas is still the top dog, we’ll still take pure evil over that whole ‘joy and cheer’ stuff in December. We recently posted about a Texas home that boasts a Halloween light show based on the Ozzy Osbourne classic ‘ Bark at the Moon ,’ but we’ve got a new one for you from the shock rocker Marilyn Manson and his cover of ‘This Is Halloween.’ Originally from the iconic animated film ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas,’ the song ‘This Is Halloween’ was given the Manson treatment for the 13th anniversary re-release of the movie’s soundtrack. The master light-smith that created this display used over 8,500 lights and roughly 250 channels of computer animation to create the three-and-a-half minute terror show, which includes singing Jack-O-Lantern faces, neon graves, spacey lights and epileptic assaults of multicolored insanity. Additionally, the same homeowner recently had a ‘Gangnam Style’ light show video go viral on YouTube. Check out this awesome suburban horror light show in the video below: Marilyn Manson, ‘This is Halloween’ Light Show [button href=”http://loudwire.com/charles-manson-writes-open-letter-to-marilyn-manson-from-prison/” title=”Next: Charles Manson Writes Open Letter to Marilyn Manson” align=”center”]
