YouTube Tremonti left fans contemplating what was to come with a teaser for the ‘Wish You Well’ video earlier this week and now that the clip has arrived, it is every bit as spooky as you would expect. The video alternates between Tremonti and his band jamming their latest single and a young boy rocking out on his guitar from a rooftop. How the boy got there is what makes the clip interesting, as the video starts with a camera monitoring the boy playing guitar in a near abandoned room. After a few moments a hulking trench-coated man knocks on the door and leads the stunned youth up the stairs to the rooftop. After whispering something to the boy, then gesturing that he play to his surroundings, the man steps away and lets the boy jam. The rest of the clip finds interspersed, quick-cutting images of the man traveling from house to house and his journey to finding the young boy. The end of the video starts almost as it began with the man arriving at the boy’s door and knocking, though this time we see the apartment number 12. Could this be a clue to something bigger? Tremonti did tease a code in his trailer for the new video, but how does the number figure into the coordinates? It remains to be seen, but a press release on the video stated that the lead up to the clip was just a small part of a future design that the guitarist and his band have in store for their fan base. Stay tuned for more from Tremonti, but in the interim catch the ‘Wish You Well’ video below. Buckcherry Unleash ‘Gluttony’ Video
AOL Buckcherry have been singing about excess with their new single, ‘Gluttony,’ and now they’re sharing a visual representation of the sin with their latest music video. The band recently shot the clip at a church in North Hollywood, Calif., with actor-turned-director Billy Jayne overseeing the shoot. The video finds Josh Todd and the band leading the congregation toward temptation. Guitarist Keith Nelson says of Jayne’s contribution, “It was really refreshing to see his take on what we’re doing because he totally gets the music, he’s connecting with it, and he’s taking it to a different place than a guy who does videos for a living. We got a guy who actually makes movies and TV shows to put his spin on it and it’s been really positive.” Todd recently told Loudwire about the track, “It’s just about trying to control your behavior. They always say that you have to do everything in moderation and that’s never been my experience. One is okay, two is better, three is fantastic and four is the best. I want to consume everything. I want to go big or go home. I’m either on 11 or I’m asleep.” The vocalist also tells Noisecreep , who premiered the clip, “Because the record is called ‘ Confessions ,’ we filmed the video in a church. We got Jesus down here — which is killer — and we got a lot of our fans in it, which is amazing. They came out on their own time and have really put a lot of sweat equity, so thank you to them.” In the video itself, the full congregation seem to be giving in to excess, while one member remains to fight temptation, only to have both Todd and Jesus bending his ear throughout the clip. The ‘Confessions’ album is due in stores Feb. 19, but fans may pre-order the disc right here . Buckcherry have tour dates booked with Kid Rock that were scheduled through early March, but a second leg has just been added, with the trek now extended into April. Papa Roach Unveil ‘Before I Die’ Video
YouTube Papa Roach are ending 2012 with a little video extravaganza. Earlier this month, fans got the ‘ Where Did the Angels Go ‘ clip and now, getting in just under the 2012 deadline, there’s a new video for ‘Before I Die.’ The promo itself finds a grieving Jacoby Shaddix haunted by visions of lost love, often to his own detriment. Playing it close to the lyrical concept of the song, the video shows Shaddix expressing his heartbreak by chasing his visions into dangerous situations in an attempt to hold onto the past. Earlier this year, Shaddix told Loudwire about ‘Before I Die,’ “I was going through a separation with my wife during the process of making the record. Fast forward to the present and we’re working it out now, but in the process of making this record we were separated. I was at the end of my rope; I was in a lot of pain. This music is where I found my sanctuary, where I could express myself and just take myself out it for a second and not feel the pain and just be creative. During the process of making this song, ‘Before I Die’ I felt like everything was taken from me and I was just left out there raw and broken, it made everything clear to me, what really mattered to me.” ‘Before I Die’ is a key song for Shaddix as the vocalist says it spurred a change in his life. He explains, “At the end of the day it’s the people that I love in my life that are the most important to me and sometimes when you treat the people that you love the most the worst, that’s the wrong path. I had to take a long hard look at myself and realize how I was living my life and make those changes. Just being out there on my own and having those realizations, that’s where the song came from.” ‘Before I Die’ appears on ‘ The Connection ‘ album and likely will be part of the band’s performances when they begin their 2013 North American touring with Stone Sour . The Sword Unveil Cosmic Hallucination Video for ‘The Veil of Isis’
Razor & Tie Groove metal masters the Sword have just released one of the most mesmerizing music videos of the year. In a refreshing turn to the creative, the Sword have unleashed a story within the video for ‘The Veil of Isis’ that will leave you hitting the replay button over and over again. With the release of the Sword’s fourth studio album, ‘Apocryphon,’ the band has achieved the highest chart position in their act’s history, along with collecting a new mass of fans from diverse rock and metal sub-genres. ‘Apocryphon’ showcases beefy groove riffs that display the influence of bands such as Black Sabbath and stoner doom pioneers Sleep. To delve deeper into the sonic realm of ‘Apocryphon,’ check out our recent review of the record. The video for ‘The Veil of Isis’ follows a female protagonist who is stalked and pawed at by shady street-people before meeting a mysterious and run-down wizard on those same streets. The woman is given some sort of black stone by the man, which transports her to an alternate universe either physically or mentally. Could it be a representation of the drug addict / drug dealer relationship? Or does the video tell a tale of a woman with true and mystifying powers? The visuals in this video are incredible, acting as somewhat of an extension of the incredible cover art for ‘Apocryphon.’ The Sword offers a tripped out, captivating and visually brilliant music video, which is absolutely a must-see.
