Trapt, ‘Bring It’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

Epochal Artists / EMI Trapt are ramping up to their upcoming ‘ Reborn ‘ album with the in-your-face new single ‘Bring It,’ and they’re teaming with Loudwire to bring you the exclusive premiere of the video for the track. In the clip, the band plays against the backdrop of two female fighters going head-to-head in the ring, setting the perfect mood for a high-energy beat down. Of the track itself, singer Chris Taylor Brown tells us, “‘Bring It’ is a song that goes out to all the people in the world who have ever told you that ‘you can’t’ do this or ‘can’t’ do that. It is basically a f— you to anyone who doubts you. This song is about overcoming all the naysayers/haters you have in your life and the fact that we all need to prove these people wrong — those people who try and bring us down to their level. This song is about rising above criticism and persevering against all odds.” Brown also digs into the video itself, explaining, “The video basically shows the underdog taking on an arrogant champion, when no one else wanted to step up to her. She takes the champ’s s— everyday at the gym she works and trains at. When it is time to prove to everyone that she is the best out there, she does so, when everyone in her life told her she wouldn’t amount to anything. It was a blast to shoot watching the two chicks go at it for hours, they really knew how to fight. I wouldn’t want to get in the ring with those chicks, ha. It was also surreal to shoot a performance inside an octagon. I love MMA, I think it’s one of the best sports out there and to kick some ass playing ‘Bring It’ inside that octagon was a huge adrenaline rush. It was definitely one of the most fun videos we’ve ever done!” ‘Bring It’ is featured on the ‘Reborn’ album, which drops Jan. 22, and is currently available for pre-order at the band’s website . The first 500 people to pre-order via the website will receive an autographed copy of the album. There are also bundle options available that include the autographed CD, an exclusive t-shirt, and the download of the songs ‘Bring It,’ ‘Love Hate Relationship’ and ‘Live Wire.’ Watch Trapt’s ‘Bring It’ Video [button href=”http://loudwire.com/trapt-new-album-reborn-fall-2012-tour/” title=”Next: See Trapt’s Fall 2012 Tour Dates” align=”center”]

Phil Anselmo to Release ‘War of the Gargantuas’ Split with Warbeast

Housecore Legendary Pantera  /  Down vocalist Phil Anselmo is set to add another record to his impressive library of musical contributions. Anselmo will be unveiling his solo material on a new split titled ‘War of the Gargantuas’ with the thrashers of Warbeast. Anselmo and Warbeast will each contribute two songs to the split, which will contain the first official solo material from Anselmo in his near 30-year run. “This split is a glimpse into the future of both my solo project and ultimate thrash metallers Warbeast,” begins Anselmo. “The title of the split is War of the Gargantuas and it is fitting on many levels because of our combined love for the ’60s Japanese film of the same name, the power of our combined musical output(s) and our humorous affection that plays out within each of our ‘Gargantuan’ personalities.” Anselmo continues, “Both Warbeast and myself have full length LPs that will be released shortly after this is released, but this split is unique musically. It is a time capsule; a loud pause ‘til we both release our full length products. Enjoy the destruction of music!” Adds Warbeast guitarist Scott Shelby, “These two songs we have on ‘War of the Gargantuas’ were the next level after ‘Krush The Enemy. They’ve been a staple in our set list for the last two years. These songs are a pure demonstration of our unique Texas thrash metal style.” Meanwhile, Down and Warbeast have just announced dates for a 2013 U.S. leg of their joint tour. Soundgarden Stream New Album ‘King Animal’ Ahead of November 13 Release

Seven Four Entertainment/Republic It’s been an awfully long time between new albums for Soundgarden , but the band’s comeback disc ‘King Animal’ is almost here — and thanks to iTunes, we can actually hear it a week ahead of its release. While ‘King Animal’ won’t officially arrive in stores until next Tuesday (Nov. 13), iTunes is offering a free stream of the full album now (click on link below). And although it isn’t exactly the complete listening experience — you can’t skip between tracks, and the stream doesn’t provide song titles — it’s still a nice surprise for the fans who have been waiting more than 15 years for a new record from the band. The ‘King Animal’ stream follows months of buildup for the reunion album, starting with the release of the ‘Avengers’ soundtrack anthem ‘ Live to Rise ‘ over the summer, and continuing with teases and streams of an assortment of other tracks, including ‘ Worse Dreams ,’ ‘ Been Away Too Long ,’ and ‘ Non-State Actor ‘ — as well as the announcement of an expanded edition , complete with bonus tracks, that will be available exclusively at Best Buy. In the weeks and months to come, fans also have a North American tour to look forward to — but today, just crank up ‘King Animal’ and see if you agree with frontman Chris Cornell ‘s assertion that Soundgarden’s current creative vibe is “almost like it was in the beginning of the band.” [button href=”http://bit.ly/KingAnimaliTunes” title=”Listen to Soundgarden’s ‘King Animal’ at iTunes” align=”center”] Note: Outside the U.S. and Canada, ‘King Animal’ can be streamed at NME.com . Courtney Love Denies Claim She Is Working on a Nirvana Musical

Stephen Lovekin, Getty Images During a recent testimony at his trial against Britney Spears, music industry manager Sam Lufti stated that he was working with Courtney Love to create a film or musical about Love’s life with her late husband Kurt Cobain , featuring the music of Nirvana . Despite Lufti’s claim, Love has just stated that there will be no such project. We reported on the possible project on Oct. 25, but as reported by The Guardian on Nov. 4, Love told the publication, “There will be no musical. Sometimes it’s best to just leave things alone.” The Hole frontwoman and ‘The People vs. Larry Flynt’ actress went on to speak about using Nirvana’s music for commercial purposes. “I said yes once – to Baz Luhrmann to use eight seconds of Smells Like Teen Spirit in Moulin Rouge. But he wasn’t allowed to use it in the marketing. I didn’t get the part in the film. I was so pissed off I made up the term to ‘Baz’ somebody.” Love has publicly condemned the use of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by ‘The Muppets.’ “What the f—’s with ‘the Muppets?” begins Love. “I happen to like Elmo and I think the Cookie Monster is interesting but I know him [Kurt] and I know he didn’t want to be a Muppet. It was a disgrace. Like pissing on a grave.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/frances-bean-cobain-apparently-claims-home-intruder-was-trying-to-kill-her-fiance/” title=”Next: Frances Bean Cobain Claims Intruder Out to Kill Fiance” align=”center”]

As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Remembers Suicide Silence’s Mitch Lucker

Spencer Kaufman, Loudwire / Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com In the wake of last week’s death of  Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker in a motorcycle crash, his peers in the metal community are sharing their memories of the late singer. As I Lay Dying  frontman Tim Lambesis spoke with Kaaos TV  (watch below) about Lucker after a concert in Finland. “Mitch and I have a lot of similarities,” Lambesis said. “We grew up in the same area. We both have the same kind of dogs. He gave me very kind compliments on how when their band first started that I inspired him in some way or another, whether it be this type of stage performance he has or… I would assume more just the energy; the music sounds a bit different.” One of the similarities Lucker shared with Lambesis was the love of riding motorcycles. “I’ve been riding Harleys for four years or so, and Mitch more recently got into riding and started riding more. And again, [that was] another similarity and something we were able to [share]… As friends, it’s good to have those things in common.” “When I get home from this tour, I usually look forward to getting home and getting on my motorcycle and just going for a drive,” Lambesis continued. “I don’t know if I’m gonna really enjoy that the same way, you know?!” Suicide Silence and As I Lay Dying would have been on the road together this fall as part of the 2012 Outbreak Tour , which kicks off Nov. 16 and also features Asking Alexandria, among other acts. A candlelight vigil was held in Lucker’s memory last week in Huntington Beach, Calif. Lucker’s wife Jolie Carmadella says it’s probable the crash was alcohol related. “He was an alcoholic, and it’s been a big battle. I tried to stop him. I was in front of him begging him not to leave the house. Begging him, ‘Just seriously, for us, don’t leave,’ and he did. And this is what happened.” She added, “It’s a wake-up call. He was an amazing man. He was a wonderful father and a great husband, and now he’s gonna miss out on watching [our daughter] Kenadee grow, because he decided to drink and ride. Just don’t. Just think before you guys do something stupid. Please learn from this. Please.” Watch Kaaos TV’s Interview with Tim Lambesis [button href=”http://loudwire.com/suicide-silence-singer-wife-reveals-he-drank-alcohol-before-motorcycle-crash/” title=”Next: Mitch Lucker’s Wife Speaks at Candlelight Vigil” align=”center”]
